Give them a couple of years. I agree with you about the talent. Folks have forgotten about just how ridiculous of a talent Porzingis is on both ends.

    Thought this would be insightful.

    Then saw OP.

    Resident band-wagoner @what.

    What about the Grizzlies though?

He didn't mention Grizzlies. I guess they're gonna be a contender.

In all seriousness Dallas should be ecstatic that they have a core of Porz and Luka to build around. Could be lethal.

    Great job cursing the Mavs.

Proz goes 1 for 7 fg with 4 points and Greek freak goes off for 32 points against him.

Once again, showing everyone he's on Rudy Gay level

Lol I'll admit that I started to take it seriously until it was pointed out who the OP was, love the jinx thread, but my hatred for dallas has become less intense over the years due to my hate energy being spent on the Warriors. Luka seems like he'll be a great player to watch, but I'm not worried about them becoming some sort of dynasty.

But are they going to show the world they are on the same level as Rudy Gay?

Porz + Luka > Lebron + Brow? George + Leonard? Harden + Westbrick? Curry and Russell? Mitchell and Gobert? Rubio and Kaminsky?

Agree 100%. Post Dirk era is bright for them, they didn't fall into irrelevancy. Post Wade, MIA got Butler but I'm sure Riley would like another star.

Post Yao/t-mac, we got lucky with Harden. Then Paul/Westbrook. I don't take that for granted. Playoffs bound and not tanking for lottery picks.

I live in Dallas, and follow the Mavs...and even I would say 'tap the brakes, there!'.

Doncic certainly looks like the real deal, and KP should mesh well with him, but they aren't the two best offensive mismatch players in the league. One of the better 1-2 punches? ok. But then you get to 3-12. Mavs have, as they usually do, a bunch of parts the Carlisle will have to fit together. I think he'll figure it out (he usually does), and the Mavs have a decent shot at making the playoffs. That's about it (which would be a big change from last year).

You don't have to look away from home to figure out how hard it can be to replace a superstar. Some of the players they brought in to 'replace' Hakeem made you want to laugh. or cry. I anticipated a few pretty down years...Mavs did indeed get lucky. Cuban did it right, for once (there, that will get some comments here! ;-) )

I think it’ll take Porzingis almost the entire season to get back to speed. He’ll be like Hayward with the Celtics last year
