There is absolutely nothing illegal about stealing signs by players on the field or anyone in the dugout. I guarantee you the Rays were trying to do the same thing with Gerrit Cole.

Pretty easy to tip pitches when you’ve only got two.

I’m happy and relieved the Stros win this one. If they’d lost I would be on the floor with a bottle of whiskey listening to 1960s Willie Nelson.

that said hats off to the Rays! They were have some great pitching and hung in tough. Their skipper is brilliant to get them so far with such a small payroll playing in the worst stadium in the MLB. If they had won tonight I would’ve had no problems rooting for them over the Yankees

Their manager said it best. Even if we knew what was coming, we still had to hit 98mph and we did.

Every Astro’ hitter will be happy to face the Yankees. The Rays’ strategy of throwing a bunch of arms with plus stuff every game makes it really hard for hitters to get comfortable. The rule changes concerning relievers will really affect Tampa Bay next season.

The best rebuttal is subtract those 4 runs, and Stros still win 2-1.

Other factors could disprove that 'theory', but raw numbers can't be disputed.

Really? Nice. Was that the lowest line when they were 19-31 or a little after?

Astros have homered in 30 consecutive games (playoffs included).

And they homered b2b first* time ever in franchise history playoffs.

    Good convincing win tonight.

    Very proud

    * 8th inning

Robbie Chirinos just learned what it feels like to win a playoff series after all those years in Arlington

I've watched this team since '68.

To have this group of talent what can I say. I'll never see it again in my life time. You think Reds fans are ever going to see the Big Red machine again? Hell no it was a team of the ages. Same with the A's and the Mustache gang.

The 'Stros have all of this talent (especially over the next two yrs).
Without Cole they are NOT going to win a WS. Hell it's going to be tough to do it with just JV and Cole.

They can have all this offensive talent but without pitching it isn't going to happen!!

If Cole wants to go home and pitch for the Angels, I get it, and there's nothing you can do but say thank you and we appreciate everything you did for us.

If it's about $$ YOU HAVE TO SIGN HIM!!!
So freakin what if you're in the luxury tax for the next two years.
Even if you have to flip Greinke and possibly Brantley.
Without ELITE pitching you're NOT winning a WS.

The only guys they have signed after '21 are Altuve, Bregman and Pressly (one yr).

Crane do what you have to do!!

I’m well aware of that. It is only a talking point because there have been allegations in the past that we used cameras to steal signs before.

At the end of the day it is irrelevant... the Astros won the series

So is everyone think he was tipping pitches because of this? Thought so when I first saw it.

Actually nevermind. Glasnow said it was obvious what he was doing.
