They are less LIKELY to commit crimes on a per capita basis. They came here to work.

Now, the fact that you need to demonize illegals as criminals who belong to gangs, makes you just like Trump. Also there is a term for people who need to demonize a group of people with lies.

 

No, it isn't just because there are less of them. Forgive me if I wasn't being clear. That is a per capita stat. If there are communities of illegal immigrants and a community of native-born American citizens and each community was 10,000 people. The community of illegal immigrants has less violent crime.

Legal immigrants (which Trump is also trying to restrict) have the lowest rate of violent crime, illegal immigrants have more violent crime, and naturalized citizens have the most violent crime per capita.

The problem is that just now when talking about them, you started talking about their gangs. Most illegal immigrants aren't in gangs. There are an estimated 8K - 10K MS13 gang members in all of the United States. I'm sure you know there are over 11 million illegal immigrants.

Yet, you've eaten up the idea that somehow they are more violent than native-born citizens despite the research which shows differently.

They show the rates per 100,000 people so it isn't about one group having more.

I'm not sure if you didn't actually look at the research others have posted, or if you forgot about it, or what your misunderstanding was. Hopefully, that will help to clear it up for you.

I appreciate you writing that out because i was skeptical after your first comment. Is it possible that some crime in the illegal immigrant communities is not reported due to victims risking identifying themselves? I honestly think they should remain anonymous in those cases. But i know that is hard once the criminal justice systrm becomes involved.

 

It's funny that you mention that because that is the whole idea behind the dreaded 'sanctuary cities'. The idea is that people who report crimes, agree to be witnesses etc. won't be asked about their citizenship status. That's all that designation means.

Keep in mind that the 'sanctuary city' designation comes from those putting forward the policies, not from the right. They declare that they are a sanctuary city, or jurisdiction.

 

Uhhhh When doing comparisons like that it is based on percentages , not raw number of course there are less immigrants.
