Yes, I agree that we should blow up everything except Harden, if it doesn't work this year.

We've rebuilt around Harden 3 times:

The first was Dwight, Parsons, Lin.
The second was Ariza, Anderson, Gordon, Beverley, Williams.
The third is Paul, Capela, Gordon, Tucker, House.

None of these re-tinkers can get over the hump.

We joke a lot about this year being one-too-many run-it-backs. But, I feel OK about re-running it this year based on our lack of options. However, it's time to make another major change if it doesn't work this year, which means everything goes except Harden. He's the foundation for the new house.

Then we might as well blow it up now since we aren't improving this off-season and we're taking steps back in term of age while every other contender in the west got better....

... Except that we can't since next 2 drafts will be very weak.

Whatever happens, I doubt Tilman has the patience anyways to wait it out another year. He seems to be the big loudmouth impatient type.

I wouldn't put it past Tilman to do the same thing as that Russian owner of the nets who traded their future for a bunch of past-their-prime stars.

If there was ever a time for them to make the finals, this past season was it. Durant goes out with an injury and the Rockets failed to take advantage. This upcoming season will be more competitive out West. God help us all if Kawhi decides to join the Lakers.

They should have blown it up this summer.

The new warriors are just the excuse to run it back like Paul’s hamstring was.

Unless Harden absolutely loves living in Houston and wants to stay here in Houston and he's okay with no championship under his belt, Rockets won't have to do anything, Harden will do it for them by asking for a trade. If he's serious about winning a championship, he will have to make a drastic move since he'll be 31 and Rockets have really cornered themselves with CP3 contract and lack of first round picks for trades. Of course, this is all assuming we don't win it all this upcoming season.

Stupid... Harden is the ultimate prized asset. A franchise player, top five superstar who will probably age very well compared to other stars. If we don't make the finals, its time to build a completely new team around Harden, and possibly change styles. The answer isn't starting from square one, trading away Harden for a package of picks where you are shooting darts and hoping one of them turns out to be another Harden.

LMAO, we are fcked without Harden, don’t get it twisted.

1 playoff series win SINCE 1997 before Harden arrived #NeverForget

We had prime Hakeem, and how long did it take for us to get another MVP level player? Almost 2 decades...

we will not be getting equal value back in return for Harden...we will be irrelevant garbage for years after trading him

The clippers did it and they could be a very scary team if they land Kawhi.

People who say stuff like this much exclusively watch Rockets games, or have absolutely no pulse for the rest of the NBA. That fact that some people would rather be in the position of the Hornets or Suns compared to being a proven contender year after year is ridicolous.

If you were granted that wish, only so long as you gave her a cleaning after her morning constitutional, terms and methods TBD, and ONLY on game days...

How bad do you want it?

the longer we wait to trade our most valuable assets, the worse we're gonna get in return. depreciation is real. thats just facts. regardless if we dont get "equal" value back, in the next 1-4 years this topic is gonna be the only topic for a long time. i dont ever wanna trade harden, but at the end of the day, im a rockets fan more than a harden fan. rockets come first forever and always.

Don't blow it up until you clearly have no chance at a title. I don't see that being the case until Harden is in his late 30's.

I seriously think we’re in for some very dark times post-Harden

being hot trash hoping for premium lotto picks that can one day become even 70% as good as Harden isn’t fun, nor was the irrelevant years with K-Mart and the crew...it’s amazing how irrelevant we were

In my eyes, if Morey can’t get it done with Harden, then why should I believe that he will ever be able to? It’s been how many years now? Morey better not have another trash summer. As he’s out here running his mouth, Harden’s prime is being wasted right before our very eyes.

i agree. at some point in the near future, its gonna get real ugly real fast unless we get some miracle trades like pelicans/lakers.

It is not that simple. The league has changed. The GS era has ended. If there is more parity, there are more chances. Let's wait and see.

Maybe retool around Harden. But hell no to trading Harden. Dude is the best/second best player in the league (Kawhi is probably better right now) and we won’t get another guy like this for a long time. He can bring a title to Houston. He’s had the greatest team ever stopping him for 4 years of his prime. This is his year
