He wants to remake the whole franchise. Once he got rid of Rick is when this happened.

There’s just so much about Gaine’s firing, odd timing, seemingly indifferent offseason, fallout with OB, now this...

This is a circus, behind the least transparent curtain ever. And the view of Bob McNair is not exactly one of inclusion after the leaked commentary and beef with Duane Brown. The Texans need to make a real effort to change perceptions because it doesn’t matter what all else anyone wants to throw in the pot, people think this organization is discriminatory.

Cal McNair has a chance to change the response to “the Texans are racist” from “yeah, probably” to “unequivocally not”. Keeping the iron PR curtain that his father installed up is a lean towards “yeah, probably”.

Doing that admits fault and opens themselves as a party to a potential lawsuit. Right now it's just a complaint that could very well go nowhere.

Sure but being named a party to a discrimination suit will never help perception. From what we know, this complaint is against Gaine himself, not the organization. No point jumping into that fire.

    Ummm....

If the complaint is about Gaine and the Texans make a point of inclusion out of it then how are they liable in court?

Oh thought you meant for Cal/Texans to say "Ya we fired Gaine because he was racist" to try and change any perception that they are. Best thing is to just stay out of it.

I wondered if it was something like this. Bitter ex employees that were already doing fraudulent stuff have a tendency to keep doing more bullshit even after they are fired. We have dealt with it in our business and it's ridiculous what people can and will sue for. We also deal with customer fraud and they usually dig in deeper when they get called out for their bs, but that's another story.

Anyhow, if the 8 other employees were actually involved in the lawsuit then I'll change my opinion, but it sounds like it is just this one guy. Were there any statements from the 8 others he listed?

Looks like a few hours later they are vehemently denying these allegations at least.

Not necessarily but if more than a few people think you’re racist all you’re going to do is say you aren’t? Or avoid it altogether... Especially when the world is you’re oyster, as it is for Cal? That’s chicken sht.

What would you suggest? Hire a bunch of minorities and parade them around NRG? And who cares if more than a few people think you're racist, those same people would probably think that regardless of what you said/did to disprove it. So ya...avoid it all together.

Idk maybe something less sarcastic. Better PR and community building efforts? A wealthy white man speaking out on it would do more than you think. Who cares? I know who doesn’t care, people who are prejudiced but privileged enough to never have to deal with it unless they choose it.
