Yeah, this is his day to be in the booth this month. He's been great.

I'm sure it's mostly luck, but I like him in the 5th spot (particularly as an injury replacement). Reminds me of Wandy.

Though he also kind of reminds me of Wesley Wright.

My not particularly clever nickname for Wandy was "the crappy magician". He could escape problematic innings.... that he created for himself.

That was definitely Framber in the past.

Need Yuli to start rippin’ liners in the gap.

I guess he really has never been the same since the broken hand.

Also, he’s from Cuba. He’s probably 38 instead of 35.

Regardless, I would love to see him start to contribute more.

Just home from the game... happy for Mayfield... Alvarez.. what a dude.. I hope he likes the DH role because he seemingly could fill that hole very well on the team... good time... lots of Biggio family/friends in Toronto gear in 122... Craig just wore neutral clothes

Made two decent plays. I think he is going to be fine out there in left. I hope he gets time next year at 1b.

He looked comfortable. Tracked down a fly ball in the corner behind the Crawford Boxes and caught it for the out. Only had 3 fly balls to him, and caught them all. I can say he looked comfortable out there.

Did what he had to do. Nothing electric but he caught a ball right up against the wall on his first out. Second out, he rather impressively navigated around the corner of the Crawford Boxes and caught a long ball in the crook there. Would've flummoxed a lot of players, especially visitors. Seems to have a pretty strong arm.

Hoping Valdez has truly had a lasting breakout regarding control. His fastball is heavy. Great curve can be used for Ks or grounders. Very different than a lot of other homegrown pitchers with his fastball being a sinker.

Valdez has quality stuff if he just avoids the major walk issues.

Why do you think it's mostly luck?

He won't be as good as he has been in these last 2 games, but he can easily be a good starter.

Bench: Marsnick, Diaz, Stassi, Kemp, Straw

    Rotation:
    Verlander
    Cole
    Trade for 3rd starter
    Miley
Peacock (if no 3rd starter via Trade)

    Bullpen
    Osuna (9th)
    Pressly (8th)
    Peacock/Trade Piece (7th)
    Rondon (6th/7th)
    Smith (6th/7th)
    Harris (6th)
McHugh/Framber/James or Trade Piece (Long Relief)

If we can get a 3rd starter and a 7th inning guy to give it to Pressly/Osuna for the 8th/9th innings....we're going to be ABSOLUTELY dangerous.

He has far better stuff than Wandy or Wright. If he throws strikes, he is going to be around a long time.

Because he's wild and they have come against bad teams. He definitely has the talent to be good. Keep in mind Wandy ended up a pretty good starter himself.

Definitely has more velocity, but Wandy had an elite curveball. Wright had a pretty good slider, but never really became consistent enough for him to be anything. I do love Framber's stuff (when he isn't walking guys).

    Apparently 1908, at least.

So yeah... pretty much MLB history.

Crazy all 4 occurrences are within the last 15 years, and 3 within the last 5.
