Can someone please change the thread title, something like "Bay Area cop assaults Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, police department caught in shameless lies"

In any case, would love to see a cage match between Masai Ujiri and Mark Stevens...

Interesting...seems he does have the credential, which puts the cops' story in doubt.

Apparently, there was an updated credential which he did not have (according to ESPN report).

    Give it a rest.

No one knows what happened. Let it play out and see.

Wow. ..... there has to be tapes of this. I'm also baffled as to why the cop had no idea who Masai Ujiri is. That is poor communication on the part of stadium security.

Looks like the cop was playing hero/power tripping. He didnt know who Masai was and was embarassed when he showed credentials but too stubborn to apologize

This is the Warriors' management's fault. It's their organization's responsibility to ensure their guest has the proper credentials, make sure their security know who Masai Ujiri is, or at the least to escort him. What kind of amateurish organization sets up stupid situations like this? Joe Lacob owes Ujiri an apology. Very similar to their enabling of the Durant injury. Unprofessional behavior fueled by disbelief they could lose or mess up.

The whole thing about credentials is beside the point. Why didn't the Warriors have a staff member ready to accompany Ujiri through? It's not like it was a surprise he would go onto the court if the Raptors won. Instead the police and media are treating it like Masai was somebody who forgot his ticket. The championship post-game is supposed to be a prepared event, not a TSA line. He's a VIP and they didn't treat him like one. There are lots of reasons why that might be the case, but the fact is it was their job and they failed.

Nice comeback bro, full of sound and fury.

Police: Ujiri did not have credentials

    - Numerous photos and videos showing Ujiri with credential in hand before, during, and after altercation.

Nook: No one knows what happened:rolleyes:

Looks like that cop was a fan of the Golden State Warriors, didn't want others to celebrate on his court, and took actions he thought he'd get away with because of his badge.

It's pretty clear that Ujiri was looking to beat up one of our brave first responders -- you can see it in his eyes and his clinched fists. I am relieved the brave Deputy survived this violent assault.
