I think Curry shooting a 3 is the most efficient shot in the NBA (outside of harden getting fouled on a 3). And Klay is also an insane shooter

Anytime you are taking away Curry and Klay 3s so that Durant can take a fadeaway 2, the offense is worse. And Durant can only hit those shots when teams don't help off Curry, so when Curry sits the offense is meh.

Yes they won with Durant playing that way, but they would have won without him

and durant most of the time in a close game takes rushed bad shots. if harden dribble the ball too much durant is almost guaranteed to take a bad shot once he gets the ball. he makes those cause hes that good. but for me its sometimes green level shot selection bad. i think thats why he got injured. he makes his life unnecessarily hard by opting to take those contested jumper and fade away shot when he could easily just makes an extra pass to an equally good scorer. harden would make curry and klay attempt atleast 15 shots each.

You know he isn’t going to sit back and risk letting his teammates show the world they didn’t need him. Although he’s already a little too late for that. Lol.

Offense is half the game. Any team can really use a nimble 7ft spiderman in help defense

What would be great is if he missed the first 2 games and then came back. Then we could see GS vs Bucks with and without KD.

I am looking forward to that matchup either way. Assuming the Bucks get there of course.

Though he was rebounding really bad on defense. That's when they switched him out to Harden

Rox offense won 2 games with Durant and 0 games without him.

If Irving is the most overrated player in the NBA KD is the 2nd most overrated. Media and a lot of the board had him crowned ad the best player in the NBA LOL.

If anybody on the Warriors is the best player in the NBa it's freaking Steph Curry, likely the GOAT pg after he retires.

For those of you who say Curry is more efficient than Durant and that Durant makes the Warriors worse:

Look at the playoffs TS% of the past five years.

14-15 Curry .607 (their first championship) Durant missed the playoffs that year.
    15-16 Curry .603 Durant (OKC) .542
    16-17 Curry .659 Durant .683
    17-18 Curry .590 Durant .606
    18-19 Curry .630 Durant .655

Looks like both guys' efficiencies improved after Durant joined the Warriors, and Durant's is consistently higher than Curry's.

My bottom line take is this. They don't need Durant to win. But Durant definitely makes them harder to beat.

Considering Durant's efficiency without Curry, my guess is that Durant is simply benefiting from Curry far more than the reverse.

It's true that the Warriors are better than everyone else without Durant. But I don't think they will be better than whoever comes out of the East. Those 2 teams are legit AF.

Toronto won 58 despite Kawhi sitting 20-something games, and they had an excellent record without him. Bucks won 60 despite essentially resting the last few weeks of the season. They are both better than their records. They had to prove that their wins were not padded because they play in the East, and they both did it decisively. Bucks absolutely trashed the West (54-win pace, tied with Warriors vs West). Raptors trashed the West (60-win pace, best record vs West in the NBA). The Raptors were as good against the West as the Warriors were against the East. Rockets were a 51-win pace against the EAST.

The big problem is that these 2 teams are going to wear each other out while the Warriors are resting and scouting.

I don't deny that. I am just pointing out that "Durant makes the Warriors worse" is just not true.

It is obvious that Durant benefits from joining the Warriors. But he doesn't make them worse. He makes them better.

    I sit in the middle:

    1. Durant makes GSW much harder to beat in a series.
    2. GSW plays the "best" Basketball without him.

Durant gives them depth and options. He gives them several powerplay options depending on how the series develops. It also shares the pressure between stars.

And not unimportant, it takes away a potential competitor built around Durant. For example Durant/Harden/CP3 combo would almost certainly steamroll everything including GSW. And there are other configurations possible around Durant. It's the intriguing part around Durant's choice. Not just weakening GSW, but insta-creating another strong team by virtue of his presence.

Without Durant, GSW would have likely won multiple championships.

With Durant, there was no longer any doubt.
