I've been a loyal fan through the decades. Seen many of the coaches. While Adelman's defense has always been suspect, his offense with the kings was a beauty to watch if you're a fan of basketball.

How do you think Adelman's offense would like with the current roster today? Having beard or cp3 run a moving system with cuts and picks and getting everyone involved with an occasional iso would be fun to watch.

I might be wrong, but doesn't the Warriors run a ton of plays similar to Adelman's corner offense/splits.

With Adelman's offense you need a pass big man like Draymond Green. You can't run something like that with someone like Capela

Disguised Bobby Jackson appreciation thread, I see what you did o_O

In all seriousness, I believe the Rockets actually do run some of these actions, but I'd like to see more.

Would've been nice to use Nene's body as pass/screener to mix things up the way Divac and Webber were used.

Adelman's offense with Jokic is a perfect fit.

We don't have a good post player who can pass, unless we decide to start posting up Harden... laughable to even think about

Some of the spacing in that would be tough in today's game. But a lot of it would still work.

    What? No.

02-03 Kings were #2 in defensive rating
    07-08 Rockets also #2
    08-09 Rockets were #4

Adelman was a fantastic coach on both ends. Deserved a ring, coached several really good teams but didn't quite get there. Hopefully Mike D doesn't follow in his footsteps

Adelman was my favorite Rockets coach other than Rudy T. He took a bunch of scrubs and made them competitive.

It's not like he has been out of the NBA for that long.

He was mostly fine in 2014 with the Wolves - 9th in the league.

Probably would have been better without anchor boy Ricky Rubio running it.

I know a lot of you guys still think Rudy was our best coach, but IMO Adelman was the best coach the Rockets ever had.

His style of coaching right now would probably got us atleast one championship

It's hard to believe he is only 72...... it seems like he should be in his late 80's.

He was one of the better coaches of his era. He usually got the most out of his players.

I don't think he was a savant or anything like that.

I'd take Rick the Ruler over Mike 'I dont see the benefit of calling a timeout' Dan & Tony...

...but he's got too much backbone to coach under DM... Morey only hires guys willing to be his toadie...

    jus sayin..

This is where Capela needs to step up. Yes, he can't do dream shakes but he has to develop his passing.

Would be kinda hard to run Adelman's offense with James considering if he doesn't have the ball he literally walks most of the time, and literally stands in one spot til it comes to him (without him having to work to get open of course).
