The truth is that CP3 was supposed to be the guy to make the Warriors pay when Harden is doubled. He shot a lot of mid-range last year, especially when closing out games. This year he just couldn't, not explosive to get by anyone and not enough lift to shoot over taller defenders.

Harden shooting mid-range wouldn't spread the floor, not sure where you get that conclusion. I am actually a proponent of him taking mid-range shots, but closer to the ends of games when he can make our offense more unpredictable. Our offense is mostly fine for the first 3.5 quarters. It's the late game executions that I have issues with. So yes, it makes the offense more unpredictable and I would like to see it in late game situations.

All that being said Game 5 was more about defense/rebounding than our offense. We scored enough points in the 4th quarter to win, just needed to get more stops and finish defensive possessions with good rebounds. Game 6 was about some late 4th quarter offensive issues and not being able to stop the Curry/Green PnR.

We need more athletic bodies that can defend, make plays, and get rebounds. That would fix a lot of the problems already. The last piece of the puzzle is to have some offensive wrinkles in the back pocket for 4th quarter execution.

Let's also be honest: if we are going to pin the blame of the series loss on a player, no one deserves it more than Capela. And I mean no one - not Paul or Harden for sure. If Capela catches half his bobbles smoothly, connects on 60%+ of his FTs and resembles half the player he was in the regular season, we most likely win.

Isn't that clip the travel that was correctly called on Steph at the end of regulation last night?

Watching the dubs series, I think the biggest missing piece in Houston is a forward who can create for others. When opponents trap Curry outside the three point line, he usually dumps it to Green, and suddenly GS has a good passer running a 4 on 3. When Harden gets trapped and gives the ball up, who's doing the creating??

And don't say CP3, we all just saw how that plays out.

Yeah not exactly supporting the point of refs helping the dubs.

Precisely why Jimmy Butler is a good fit in Houston. He can create in the pick and roll.

I find that watching basketball is very helpful in having a clue about it.

Not sure about different, but it looks Lillard wants to be more similar to HOU. After GSW series and trapping, talking adding the step back 3. 2:09 mark

Kawhi shot over 50% with a very weak SAS team. Harden couldn't do that off the bench in OKC, and his % as a starter plummeted. There's no comparison , Harden is a volume shooter.. not an efficient one. Which is fine, you cannot win without him but the load has always been too much.

To compensate for this, needs to be surrounded by high FG % shooters. That's not Gerald Green (terrible %), not Iman Shumpert (terrible %), not Eric Gordon (another terrible % shooter despite strong playoffs), not Austin Rivers (terrible %), not Michael Carter Williams.

Morey keeps doing the opposite of what this team needs, get the lowest % shooters and hope their hustle makes up for it. I would keep Danuel House and PJ Tucker ( as a defender), but the rest can go for people who are the right fit. It's time to try a different approach after 5 years of the same result - high % shooters and efficient scorers who aren't as athletic and hope Harden and Paul's playmaking makes up for the loss of fast break points. It is clear you are not defensively shutting down the Warriors or Bucks.

Yeah the ringer had an article today talking about this exact thing.

When teams trap Curry his release valve is about as good it gets in Draymond.

Also talked about just how perfectly their trio fits together, while Portland and Houston’s best guys overlap.

Well, McGrady retired is still salty. Point forward?

    Durant's idol growing up.

When we had the Point forward, we had injuries and nothing much else.

Something is always missing. Proof is in the pudding or the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
