Rockets need more talent, but don’t have the assets or cap space to get it

smh, Harden’s prime is wasting away...I feel sorry for him

dude needs to have a 40% usage rate and average 36 ppg just to carry his team to a 4th or 5th seed...Morey talking about chasing GS with a team that plays sh*tty defense and lacks talent...good luck with that

Astonishingly that 4th or 5th seed team has always stepped up and rose to the occasion facing them Worriers.

It's weird. They might lose to Miami, they might lose to the Wolves, they might lose to the Nets and Doncic team but they always play above their talent level against Golden State.

It's weird but comforting. Just a decent matchup.

Of course Harden has to click though.

Yes, and that's not a great thing. I do like him though.

Cp3 was injured for a long time. I have hope he'll pick it up come playoff time.

I feel more sorry for the fans. Some of us have been waiting on a Championship since James was about 5 or 6 years old.

James, like most big stars seek money and being the star player more than anything else, so they can't always have it all. He left OKC for more money, and could have stayed there through his prime. He, Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, and a huge cast of supporting players could have dominated the league like the Warriors. He chose to pursue more money here and be the main star.

    East is top heavy, though.

You play any given team in the West (besides PHX) and you aren't guaranteed to win. You play any given team in the East besides the top 4, and it's a cakewalk.

The point about the east is not that there is no good team, it's that there is extra bad teams (more likely wins on the total). 6 down is really dismal.

It was Westbrook with the go-ahead layup last saturday after westbrook split the double team trap.

IMO the issue stems from lack of consistent leadership...

MDA needs to game plan beyond "I want to see 50 3 pt attempts a game..."

James need to not take on so much on himself (even if it means losing some games) so he doesnt get so tired he becomes a chucker or a turnover machine...

CP3 needs to do whatever he has to do to stay on the floor running the offense...

Yeah I agree. The biggest issue is CP3 declining. NBA is at the end of the day still a superstar league. You need multiple all stars to be elite

Cp3 hit timely three's against the wolves, first in second quarter at 6:30 mark. Cp3 made the first bucket at beginning of 4th quarter.

Far"weed" surprised the defense with a drive and dunk off of a side out inbounds play. Far"weed" has to keep defense on their heels by playing aggressive every play! That was what house was bringing to the table!

the issue is Capela is injured

once he comes back he'll be the 2nd best player

the issue becomes is CP3 better than other contender's 3rd best player?

and is the rest of the rockets better than the contender's rest of the players?

This. Harden and Capela were rolllllllllling while Paul was out. Honestly, if Clint didn't go down with injury, we might be sitting at the 3rd seed right now. His return is more important than Paul's return.

The capella injury was incidental but the LeBron injury gave the rockets the most breathing room. Not too mention James Ennis giving lonzo ball a chop block in that rockets Lakers game.

The game winner made by Westbrook did in last Saturday game in prime time.

Paul George closed it out from the line

The rockets gonna stop getting nba prime time Saturday games because they keep losing on ESPN!
