The Cure is nice. This song does the exact same.... title last line. First time hearing this. Pretty good. Sounds like Breakfast Club times.
Right “Not mentioned” or “Barely mentioned” He says it three times. My thought process was you wouldn’t guess the title because he kinda sneaks it in. Most people likely guess “Baby, Baby, Baby”.
I bet the ratio of Prog Rock from the 70's without the song title in the song is through the roof. Here is ELP - "Karn Evil 9 - 1st Impression, Part 1" which would be really awkward to fit into a rhyming song lyric:
I immediately thought of the cure for some reason... And then saw your post picking a lot more songs by them, good job
New Order has tons of them. Face Up Ceremony Temptation Love Vigilantes Some Bizarre Love Triangle The List could go on for pages. Devo - Devo Corporate Anthem.
The Cure - Plainsong Wire - Map Ref. 41 degrees North 93 degrees West Public Image Ltd - Seattle As FranchiseBlade said, a lot of songs by New Order. Many other songs here but the 3 I listed were the first ones that came to mind.
1st 3 that came to my mind (but I didn't want to list for fear of giving away my age...lol) were The Ballad of John and Yoko (but I think Ballad Of songs shouldn't count) Subterranean Homesick Blues Crosseyed and Painless (actually, willing to bet, half that album) and probably 80% of Phish songs
