Would they have not gotten swept? Maybe... but Oswalt wasn't necessarily a great bad-weather pitcher, and the White Sox roughed him up on full rest in MMP, despite being spotted an early lead. Clemens was a little worn down to end the season (pitching all those extra inning relief innings in the Braves game didn't help). Pettite pitched well in game 2, which was the Astros best chance to win a game early on, and Chad Qualls happened.
Dan Wheeler was responsible for three baserunners, two of them with two outs. Dye was not HBP, blown call. Not making excuses, but I'm still really pissed to this day. That inning still gives me nightmares.
