O-Line... So Hot Right Now

    It says that for one reason or the other, Watson is holding on to the ball longer than just about any QB in the NFL and as a result, we should expect him to get sacked more than just about any other QB unless he's got the best O line in the league. Unsurprisingly, he's been sacked the 2nd most in the NFL. Now sure, part of that is BOB being a terrible coach and calling for long developing plays, but another huge factor is Watson holding on to the ball too long instead of throwing the ball away. We can only fix the part about Watson holding on to the ball too long, we can't fix BOB being a terrible coach.

    An example of what I'm saying is this play



    He should have known the blitz was coming, especially since it's pointed out to him, and gotten the ball to his hot read Thomas who was open for what is possibly a first down. Instead, he holds on to the ball and takes the sack that will be blamed on the O line or someone else.

    Like BOB and his "long-developing plays"? Seems Thomas was open pretty quick to me.

    Yup, that play was 100% on Watson for not making the easy pass due to somehow completely misreading the play.
