On a youtube vid, just hit the "share" button and post the url that pops up. The bbs software automatically recognizes it and takes care of all the tags and stuff. Luis Tiant:
If there’s one thing that I’m relieved about is that Giles did not ultimately cost the Astros a world championship last year despite his best efforts. He got his ring, I hope he’s at least happy with that.
I just watched the movie Borg vs McEnroe this week, and the crazy mental imbalance Giles displayed lately reminded me so much of the way they portray Borg as a youngster. I had no idea Borg was such a mental case in so many ways before watching that movie. Sure, McEnroe was always the bad boy, but Borg was off the wall bizarre. The movie was far better than I ever expected. It was that "crazy" part of Borg that actually drove him to greatness. His coach took him on, when others wanted him off the courts with that rage, and mentored him into focusing all that rage and anger internally, while just focusing on one shot at a time. Giles needs a coach like that, who can help him learn to harness all that rage internally, and using it to his advantage, while focusing on one pitch at a time. I really do hope he comes out of this situation in a good way, and that he becomes the best pitcher he can possibly be.
Is the movie at the theaters? I hope Giles figures it out someday. But want him gone, he's too immature for this team and they dont have time for him to grow up.
So many memories of my little brother and I on the carpet about 4 feet from the TV watching that on Sat? Sun? late mornings.
Yes, I agree about his immaturity. He has a lot of growing up to do to do deserve a shot on this team. Punching himself in the face was a huge reg flag that this kid is on the verge of doing something far more destructive. As for the Borg vs McEnroe movie, it's on Redbox right now. If you watch it, let me know what you think. I really liked it, and found it much more interesting that I even expected.
The closing song gives me goosebumps. I watched it every Saturday I could with my older son when he was a kid, and it was one of those things we did together that always felt important...just watching that show together. I was so sorry they discontinued it.
See here’s the problem. It’s terribly unfair to expect him to get outs when it’s not a save situation. That’s all on the manager. Ken is still perfect in my mind. Obviously I’m kidding, but I swear there’s a faction of Astros Twitter that would make this case.
