They typically don't do much work in OTAs. Pretty much any information or reactions to the o-line during anytime other than training camp is rather pointless. You can't tell a thing about them other than their physical conditioning until they get pads on and it gets physical.
I am curious, what is our RB situation looking like? Lamar is getting older and well used. Gonna need a lot of help. D'onta is a wild card coming off achilles. We would be lucky if he is effective (damn shame because he was looking very promising before he went down). I don't even know who 3rd (or 2nd?) string is. So what is the outlook? Are we looking to sign someone? Trade? Prospect? I'm fairly uninformed on the situation. Can anyone shed some light for me?
He was decently touted a few years back and seen as a raw prospect with elite measurables but an injury derailed his career. Potential high reward but his floor is very low.
He then came back and said Kareem is versatile and could be used at outside corner, inside, And safety.
Summary from BRB: Watson and receivers will be getting together during the break Tyrann Mathieu is "a really good player" Kareem will rotate positions in different packages Aaron Colvin got a mention, shown good coverage skills inside Zach Fulton can even be put out at OT in a pinch Kelemete mentioned at 3 interior spots, Seantrel "good feet" Rankin missed field time, but he’s "been very, very good in the classroom" Roderick Johnson, just another addition trying to upgrade the bottom 10 spots on the 90 Watson/O’Brien relationship, He knows what I’m likely to call and I know what plays he likes to run… "these young guys want the play in quickly and they like to play fast." Mentioned Kyle Shanihan, Sean McVey offenses. First "wow" moment for O’Brien with Deshaun was the TD play in first JAX game… "The play I called, he executed perfectly… I don’t think I ever even went over that play with him before that." Pre-draft visit... When Deshaun Watson was here for his pre draft visit, they taught him some of their playbook and left the room for 30 minutes and then returned for Deshaun to regurgitate what he’d learned. Deshaun drew the play up perfectly right-handed… looked back at O’Brien and asked him, "Do you want me to draw it left-handed, because I can do it left-handed too?" Coach swooned inside. No player visit ever "hit me like it hit me with him"… "We had 100% offseason participation, and you could see our players being drawn to him. They ended up putting two tables together and they all crowded around him. That meant a lot to me."
Watson's "potential" is Hall of Fame. He needs to stay healthy, have good protection, and have great offensive weapons around him. A stellar defense will help. Sky is the limit.
