Once the #Narrative has been established, it is hard to override. The Kyrie seeds have firmly been planted. Look around.

All you need is a small group of loud influencers to pound their point and then the bobblehead local beat writers parrot the narrative

Stupid Harden, he should know that all you have to do to win MVP is be a total cancer and run everyone out of town! That way, when your ass is traded elsewhere or everyone leaves you, the media can run a "jilted at the altar" story and the MVPs will fall from the sky!

I don’t give a damn what your story is if you’re averaging 23, 3, and 5 while another dude is averaging 32, 5, and 10...

there’s no way these fools have the checked the numbers...Harden vs. Kyrie shouldn’t even be close, this should be a mismatch, this should be prime Shaq vs. Isaiah Thomas in the post...

Harden is too dark skinned, doesnt have the mamba mentality (whatever that is), doesn't play with heart, has too much help, not enough winz, he doesn't scream and yell at everyone all the time, he doesn't sell enough shoes!!!

Seroiusly though, would MVP Kyrie even make the All-NBA First team?

Kyrie’s making 2nd Team at best behind Steph and Harden

They would care about the numbers if it was Lebron or Westbrook or Curry or any of the other media darlings.

it’s so ridiculous...if Kyrie was averaging like 29 and 8 then ok, but his statline isn’t even close to Harden’s, and he’s nowhere near Harden’s tier as a player

Boston better start losing so this Kyrie hype can die down...

What a joke, I checked the mans twitter page dating back to the start of the NBA season. He's a part of ESPN stats team and despite the eye boggling stats Harden has been posting this year, he has only broken down Harden's performance once.

I think some of you don't understand just how influential harden leaving Nike for adidas was to his reputation.

Mark my words. by Christmas Day, the Rockets will have the best record in the NBA.

Then Paul will outplay Harden to beat OKC on Xmas Day, and the media will say, "See, this is why Harden isn't MVP. Is he even their best player? The better 'story' in Houston is the arrival of Chris Paul and how he's finally helping them play defense."

When we have the best record, they will use the "not the clear best player" on the team argument, and defense is what is making the difference.

Another way to say that is you will become "impervious" to all perceived media conspiracies and slights, just as I suggest we could in the feedback thread....others will intensify their sensitivity to the media.

    amirite
