21BB : 19K on the year. You know that's gotten Ground Control's attention. eta: Ryan Hartman (9th rnd LHP, Tenn-Weslayan) is doing work too. He's a bit old for that level, wouldn't be surprised to see him in BC soon. I was looking over that draft class, and noticed that Chad Donato (10th rnd RHP, West Virginia), has yet to play for an affiliated squad. Guessing he's in EST? That's a bit strange for a college Jr. Injured?
I guess I'm going to Corpus again. I'll need to savor the moment in case he gets shipped off to Tampa or Pittsburgh.
Martin-Tucker-Ferguson will be nice to keep an eye on. Jason Martin is still only 21, getting overshadowed because Tucker is up to AA at age 20. Unfortunate that Ramon Laureano has had such a rough year in Corpus. Hopefully he bounces back in the 2nd half. It'll be interesting to see how the depth charts shake out. At AAA, Fisher is making his case for a call-up. What is worth watching is what happens to Preston Tucker and Teoscar Hernandez -- they both have slots on the 40 man, without much path to the big leagues. Teoscar has versatility to play any of the OF spots, but the only reason he'd get the call ahead of Fisher is the 40 man roster. For Preston Tucker, he needs to pick up the pace -- hard to imagine him getting the call ahead of Reed (or even Moran) if they're looking for a bench bat. My guess is some combo of P. Tucker/Teoscar/Kemp are on the move in the trade deadline, maybe for some Low-A lotto ticket types.
I'd expect Ferguson to get promoted soon. At some point they will need to consolidate because they have so many OFs worth keeping in the organization.
Are we not going to address that Daz Cameron has been underperforming in A ball. I am a bit worried. Can't hit on them all.
I think he feels bad for being part of the Jarred Cosart highway robbery. Yordan Alvarez to high A would be exciting. He's mashing at Quad Cities (SSS, though). For context, he's 6 months younger than Kyle Tucker. Marcos Almonte could be the other choice -- he's definitely outhitting Wrenn thus far.
I personally wrote him off after last year. If he performs: great. If not, whatever. We have so many good OF prospects that one underperforming is rather meh.
Well, he was drafted pretty early in the first round. Expectations were right there with Tucker as well. One guy has exceeded and the other has been Gio Mier.
