I know that tons of people have lost weight due to losing ‘fast’ access to fast food and social drinking at bars.
call me incredibly skeptical that the NBA will be able to start up again without any player catching COVID and infecting his locker room, but i'm sure excited to see what a new, lighter James Harden can do. Everyone talks about his choking in the playoffs, but i see it purely as running out of steam, and his weight has to be somewhat of a factor. I suppose with the time off everyone will be fresh so it's probably not as much of a factor as it would have been, but i think James will benefit from carrying less weight as he moves further into the back end of his career. As long as he keeps his strength, this weigh loss is a super positive development.
Are we just going to ignore how good Jeff Green looks too? Being lost in the desert seems to be working.
thanks to coronavirus the strip clubs are shut down. He cant go drinking and eating late at strip clubs no more, No matter what city hes in.
Maybe I’m biased for fat people and don’t like his change happening mid season. He needs to be comfortable when he plays no matter what his body looks like. He was more than successful before—> “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it -vs - Leave good enough alone”. I just hope that his shot is still there and he overall still feels normal.
When guarding LeBron, Stephen Jackson said he was better off heavier than slim and fit. He needed that weight to prevent LeBron from walking him all over the court. We want Harden to still be capable of getting where he wants to go on offense and doesn't get pushed around on defense.
If it improves his stamina, then great. I am worried he won’t be able to guard the post at a lighter weight, though. Although maybe we shouldn’t be relying on him to do that anyway.
On a serious note. Harden tries a little too hard, much like LeBron. He likes to look good for the press. I don't mind. I'm just sayin. It's a show. He's still gotta do it in the Finals. He's his own man, which is a little better than what LeBron or than Kobe is/was, but you know he likes the image of working hard. It will pay off as relentless if he does win a championship. And he is relentless. I give him credit where due. But he has to win one.
Could be a good thing for him overall (not that I'm one of those fools who thinks he was fat), but also might hurt his finishing ability. In any case, I feel like there's a few elements of that pic that make him look skinnier than he is. The scraggliness of his hair/beard, the looseness of the shirt...
As I laid it out before, we dunno how fit the opponents look, we could all assume that they come back strong but have less time practicing with teammates due to Covid-19.
