(Wojbomb) Rockets talking to several Eastern conference teams about Capela trade

Why is it that we let players go and then pay a fortune to get them back later.....I dont get it

 

Yep, we all hated it. But its spilt milk and I'm on to better beverages.

Not begrudging your take at all but there are some new interesting options available in here and now.

 

We have known for a long while that Clint was on the market, but it needs to be right deal.

And several teams have coveted Clint: ATL, BOS, SAC

Hopefully there is another East team in the mix as well.

 

If we can give Capela and a FRP.....and come away with RoCo and Collions....we have WON the trade deadline, once again.

But I doubt it.

 

Capela plus picks should get us at least a close to all star level talent.

 

Colllins and RoCo sounds too good to be true but at the same time, Capela would bring value in Atlanta with a team that is looking to grow and Collins and Convington would allow Rockets to play shooters all the time with Westbrook being the only that can't hit a 3.

If Morey made out with this while only giving up 1 FRP and Capela, that would be nuts.

Collins is well damn worth the risk and Convington is such a good defender, it would be nuts for Tillman to get in the way of winning.

Some of you guys needs to understand that Capela no longer fits this team. Russ not being able to hit jump shots makes it hard for him and Capela to play together. It makes easier to double Harden. You guys need to see the big picture. If you ask me, this is what you call selling high. Crossing my fingers that something like this happens man.

I would love Covington, he would be just what the doctor ordered to address out biggest weakness. But possibly trading Capela and a 1st doesn't move the meter in a noticeable way because it creates another weakness, and it extinguishes more assets. If we can get Covington and a starting worthy center that would do the trick and be worth 2 FRP.

We absolutely have to improve our defense, but these midget lineups are gonna get obliterated in the playoffs. We need one big on the floor.

 

HOU IN: Covington, Collins, Len, Graham
ATL IN: Capela, Bates-Diop, 1RP
MIN IN: Parker, Nene, 1RP, 2RP

Pipe-dream scenario that raids our draft assets but provides us with a fantastic 3&D player, a young athletic small-ball 5 brimming with potential, and a legit 7'0 who can soak up some minutes, rebound, and hit a jumper.

Atlanta gets a pick, the center they've been seeking to grow with their team, as well as a first rounder. Bates-Diop is a cheap young talent. The Hawks commit to Trae/Huerter/Reddish/Hunter surrounding Clint.

Minny gets some draft compensation, a cheap contract in Nene who can mentor KAT, as well as can kick the tires on a scoring young forward who's on a bargain deal.

IDK how much it'd make sense for the other teams, as I'm clearly biased.

 

Is there a world where we don't end up with a Center in return?

 

MDA wants play smallbal. If we trade Clint does it mean MDA stays for the next season?

 

Unpopular Opinion Alert:

I hope we don't get Covington...he was REAL SHAKY in his playoff stint in PHI. Far from a proven veteran IMO. I'm not sure what other wing is available but I hope it isn't Covington.

 

Covington sucks....people here wanting to give up Capela and our remaining few first round picks would be the official end of the Rockets.

 

Sometimes I wonder If we would be better off with some savages like the Morris Twins in the playoffs.

he isnt a true shooter. if anyone would expect him to come here and light it up, think again. he can go just as cold as 0-12 ariza.

 

Agree, Rockets need at least two 3-D forwards out of this trade.

And aside from ATL, BOS has coveted Clint as well.

Memphis gets something for iggy in House &hartenstien and a 1st and some expiring contracts
Atlanta swaps Collins for Capella and Minnesota gets Evan turners expiring contract from Atlanta and a rockets 1st
