If I'm LT, I want at least double that ($22M)

Hell, if I'm Whitney Mercilus, DJ Reader, Bradley Roby, J-Jo, Seantrel, Ka'imi, Carlos Hyde...I'm seeing if I can negotiate an extension with Bob. :D

I totally agree on the OPTICS. I'm really trying to not see what I see.

You are absolutely correct about Fulton being better. In fact he's far better. He doesn't get bullrushed at all. Martin lives in the backfield. This is the Village Idiot the Texans have as Coach/Play caller/GM. His issue was personal with Clowney and we are paying for it in more ways than one, and now you give the 5th best center in a division of 4 teams a contract that pays him in the top 5 of the league at the position. Wow just Wow!

Whose keys? Who exactly is responsible. Can't take away the keys if no one is driving.

So they are okay paying top dollar to a mediocre offensive lineman on a unit that just allowed 6 sacks to start the season and was horrendous last year, yet they wouldn’t pay money to keep Clowney who is one of the best at his position. This franchise is a pathetic joke.

Who else in the NFL wanted Martin at $11 mil/per?

In about 3 year's, he will probably be the 15th-20th highest paid C in the league.

Damn, I've only seen posts on this thread AGAINST this move. Isn't there someone on this board that can defend this move, so I can have some hope?

Martin received $18.35 million guaranteed in the new deal that was negotiated between Texans senior vice president of football administration Chris Olsen and Martin's representatives at Creative Artists Agency.

The Texans value Martin for his leadership and intelligence and wanted to ensure that he didn't hit free agency after this season.

Can we just promote BOB to strictly be the GM?
He’s already shown he’s a more capable GM than head coach.

We can move AJ to HC.....

The margin between Martin and everyone is amazing.

Two million dollars separated DL vs LB for Clowney's franchise tag.

I don't understand why people are so offended by player salaries. Who the **** cares what he makes?! Dak Presott is about to make 35+ mil not because he's the best at his position but because of what he means to his team. If that's what Cal want to pay Martin then who the **** cares, stop going to the games and buying merch if you're so disgusted with the salaries of the players on the team you support

Two words. "Hard Cap". I don't really see a whole lot of anger at the player for taking the money. Rather, the anger in this thread seems pretty exclusively at the Texans for giving it.

I don't see how you can care about the Texans and not care about how the team is managed. It would be like going to a swanky restaurant and not caring that the waiter spit in your food, because it is a meal from a swanky restaurant and that is what they are serving you.
