Nice that the only for sure 3 MLB starters on this team were lined up to play against the closest team in the division race...

Tired of Houston sports rivalries with Oakland teams. Just put these guys down, Stros.

Homer Bailey is one of those guys that hasn't even crossed by brain for at least 10 years. I couldn't tell you if he was 30 or 50 years old. I remember when we would play against him and Aaron Harang back in the Oswalt/Berkman days. Yet here he is, and somehow I bet he will be a pain in the arse for the remainder of the season.

When the gates open and they open 3 hours before game time when there is a bobble head giveaway. If you really want the bobble head, get there before 4pm, there will already be a long line.

    https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...top-two-al-west-teams-meet-in-crucial-series/

The linked article provides some insight into this series. What struck me the most is how gassed their bullpen is. That along with Fiers (yea, that Fiers) being their best starter, should allow our offense to feast. If we can force their starters out early, I expect some lopsided wins in this series.

All that said, the A's are a scrappy team. They find ways to win.

    Prediction: 2 of 3 (Astros)

What happens when we need that extra pitcher? Straw (super 2 implications)? Kemp DFA/trade? I guess we'll just cross that bridge when we get there.

We have 2 days off coming up so we won't need a 5th starter until after the trade deadline, so there's no need to carry one right now.

Straw will likely get sent down when Correa is available to come back because he has options and Tony Kemp doesn't. Super 2 won't be considered for the likes of Straw.

Surprised they aren't putting James on the 10 day, they must have gotten a clean report from the doctors. Can't imagine they would take any chances with him.
