Jimmy Butler is gone so Plan A is out the window. We can whine about being promised fireworks (I did, but in a different thread) or move on and look to see what is still out there. Although Houston hasn't made a sexy move, never forget how good they were when they jelled, and how their lowest lows had a lot to do with players that are no longer on the team. So let's examine what's still out there and how Houston still improve:

    Here's what we know:
    Under Contract:
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
    Eric Gordon
    PJ Tucker
    Clint Capela

Free Agents Still to be had in Rockets Price Range (Accord to ESPN):

    My humble opinion:
-Bring back Shumpert at slight overpay for three years for trade fodder but also if we aren't going to switch as much, he may have more value.
-Go for Seth Curry (probably too expensive)
-Try to sign either JaMychal Green or Noah Vonleh
-Offer one year minimums to: stanley johnson, markieff morris (long shot, maybe help him rebuild value?), Richaun Holmes, Jared Dudley, Ray Felton, Justin Anderson, Sam Dekker (better than Harrison Barnes!) and see who accepts.

    What say you guys?

Morey needs to snag Jaylen Brown from the Celtics! Our weakness has been and will continue to be our wing position! We need an athletic slasher type.

Clint and a first then replace Clint with a similar player. McGee or looney. Morey please don’t **** this offseason up again

    My humble opinion:

    1) **** Iman Shumpert

    2) MDA should learn how to not be stubborn and we should still have Faried coming off the bench. Faried & House would have been good bench players but MDA doesn’t know how to go off the hard beaten path. Pop would have had house and Faried integrated if on roster

I’m still in the trade Clint boat. I don’t hate him but I think we can improve by using his value while it’s still semi high.

I think the Rockets will go after either Love or Covington, although i'm not sure how that will turn out, especially with Love since he would cost us both Capela and Gordon.

I'd like to see them do something unexpected like a trade for Siakam if Kawhi bolts, which is something i hope it doesn't happen at this point, since he would likely go to the Lakers.

As for those free agents i don't know, there're still some interesting names there:

    Curry
    Miller
    Bradley
    Stanley Johnson
    Rondae
    Looney
    JaMaychal
    Marcus Morris
    Holmes
    RoLo
    Pat
    Rivers

...i think the Rockets need a backup pg badly, at this point they should really try to get that with the MLE, try to resign Rivers, Pat is not coming for 6M i think, maybe Bradley...and then hope to be able to get a wing with some upside like Rondae or Stanley with the BAE. JaMaychal is not coming for 3/6M imo.

I wonder if Rockets legend Prince Luc is healthy enough to play next season. He shouldn't cost much, given the season he had. Toronto proves that having Africans in the organization is key to winning titles.

Our biggest weakness last year was rebounding and rim protection. Who would help us with these two things without being an offensive liability in a Harden-oriented offense?

If Rockets can secure a decent center with their exceptions I would support this. Cap space used on Capela could be much more valuable used elsewhere on the roster.

Actually, Bev is looking for 3 years 10 mils per, I don’t think anyone will give him that money, so it may be possible for him to come back.

Or I can see Morey taking a flyer on Avery Bradley, but most likely will be ended up like MCW signing.
