250 seats = deepest roster in the league. So what are we complaining about? They need to invest in hotter cheerleaders. Aka Laker Girls. Houstonians are mostly commuters and live in the burbs. Parking can be a pain. Ain’t nobody trying to go Home then to a go back to Katy and go back to work the next day in traffic.

We don’t have that guy like
    Spike lee in NY
    jack Nicholson in LA
    Drake in Toronto
    DJ Khalid in Miami
    E-40 in Oakland
    Hawks got atleast 5 rappers
Like we got Travis Scott but I don’t think he has The ability to market and create **** like Toronto has like Drake night

Not everyone has the luxury of affording tickets, and especially those working for measly wage. Texas politicians and people in power have found a way of keeping minimum wage at a ridiculous rate of $7.25 for 10 years now! So, to put that in perspective, look at the highest paid Houston player in 2010, which was Yao Ming at 18 million. Now, 8 years later we have Harden making 10 million more a year. Meanwhile there are still people making the same measly 15,000 a year they were 10 years ago at minimum wage. Now that is ridiculous!

The Rockets have sold 99% of their tickets this year. You're looking at raw attendance numbers, which don't correct for the fact that some arenas have more seats than others. Also the Rockets have only played 32 home games...so by raw numbers, of course the teams having played 36 home games have sold more seats so far this season. You can't do a whole lot better than selling 99% of the tickets you offer. http://www.espn.com/nba/attendance/_/sort/homePct

The problem is that lower area is priced and designed for business events. From the bars..to the lounges...to the blackjack table, there are a crapload of reasons not to be in your seats at the time of tipoff. The Rockets ownership designed that. It's not an accident. And they make a ishload of money off of it all.

If you're just looking at empty seats and lauding Dallas' attendance, you're doing it wrong. Not sure if you watched the game the other night, but they had a ton of empty seats and a lot of red scattered in.

Tickets are too expensive and Houston is a bad sports town other than football. Lowering ticket prices would help.

Even if you go by percentage we are 12th. Also ratings are down like 20%.

12th...but the difference between 1 and 12 is literally 4%! The Celts have sold 100% and they're only 6th.

Rockets have sold 99% of their tickets! There are a handful of teams that have sold above their arena capacities. Not sure if Toyota Center even allows for that....that would be like SRO tickets at MMP. Hard to do in Toyota Center when the entire lower bowl is a club level.

Look, if we were selling tickets at a sub 90% clip, I'd get this. But they're not close to that. The Hawks are selling at a 76% clip...that's something to worry about. Not when your team is selling 99% of its tickets.

It's hard to make an argument that ticket prices are too high when they basically sell out all their games. They are going to charge whatever they can get. They are in business to make money. Ticket prices may be too high for you or too high for me, but they aren't so high that they don't sell all the tickets.

I'm gonna need that 200mph underground Elon Musk speedbox thing so that I can get to downtown from the outer fringes of Cypress.

Rockets attendance is up from 94% last season to 99% this season. Clearly more tickets are being sold. More people are embracing the team. Why is that narrative being ignored?

The TV ratings thing is crap anyway. ATT can't get distribution on all providers. They're still not on Dish. Hell, I have ATT Uverse, and they still don't allow streaming to me. That's ridiculous. When the games are on ABC, they get good ratings.

I'm just trying to figure out why this dude is so worried about our team, doesn't he play for the Suns and have his own team to worry about

What we need are Rockets shuttle buses that leave from the Park and Rides and use the express lanes from the suburbs and take you straight to the stadium and bring you back after the game, without any stops. Getting to the games from the suburbs like the Woodlands, Pearland, and Clear Lake without the hassle of traffic and outrageous parking prices. Not only that, but it would be a fun shuttle full of happy fans. I think our new owner can make that happen.

Better yet would be a Rocket train that runs from Galveston straight to downtown, with 2 or 3 stops along the way north, and one going from the Woodlands south as well. Forget the stupid bullet train to Dallas. How about trains for Houston's suburbs, all the way to Galveston that take people to Downtown, the Medical Center, and Stadium trains for the sporting events, and concert trains for the Woodlands. We shouldn't have to live in Europe to have a great rail system for our suburbs.

Those are corporate seats for the big companies here. Maybe they should stop letting corporations horde them. Sell them to the public at a cheaper price. The concession prices are ridiculous already, so they should still be able to make money off of that.

technically, those seats are sold out. most of those are up for resale. some of those tickets are with people who has a job and cant make it to downtown on time with the traffic. the rest are sold to corporate. any fan with time dont have the money to buy $500 tickets. any fan with money doesnt have the time to get there.
its the circle of life :/
unless rockets decides to start selling tickets to fans and not corporates (they would lose substantial amount of money) then these seats are going to be continuously empty. the organization knows this and im sure they are okay with it since its still bringing in a lot of revenue.

Exactly this. I looked into tickets for the Spurs game and the prices were absolutely sky high. Lower bowl ticket prices have always been nuts at TC, it won't improve until the prices go down.

I honestly think in 10 years that won't even be an issue. Houston is beginning to grow vertically and that will lead to more fans being closer to TC. Gentrification will lead fans will be able to make the games on time.

When did you look for tickets because a month ago most upper level seats were around $50 for this game. Supply and demand. Just like Airline tickets plus don't forget your competing in the same marketplace as Spurs fans. There were a lot of Spurs fans in TC yesterday.

Aren't most of the empty seats from season ticket blocks?

If people aren't showing up and the tickets are sold, not much can be done.

    It's a bad look, though.
