If you can't see the difference between DNPing due to injury vs a player sucking, you're trolling.
Some players perform better than others with runners on and RISP. You know that.

BUT... that wasn't the main point anyway. "RBI leader" was saying Edwin wasn't just some scrub who got injured and couldn't play.
Show me where I said anything resembling "7 = 162".

The point was, those 7 games were *sufficient* enough for YOU for your "regular season is meaningless" argument. Now, you're saying 7 games is too small a sample size. If seven games is *nothing*, you should've never made it *something*.
    ____

Good job using the Lord's name in vain.

    ^^^^^^^^^
YOU gave SEVEN games relevance... when it was convenient ^^^^^^^^

You didn't say anything about sample size then, so don't now.

What? Sale is better than Severino as you just said and Pomeranz was better than any of their other options this year. I think you could make an argument they are equal, if not better than the Yankees top 3.

Agreed, but Kimbrel was no joke either. It's the postseason. All bets are off.

There IS a difference and... you're not going to like this: it favors the Indians. If a player is injured and unable to play, you can replace that player. Now, the replacement player almost certainly won't be as good as Encarnacion - but in a short series, it doesn't require a prolonged stretch of excellence - just some lucky breaks. Literally one well-timed hit could, in theory, even it out.

When a player is struggling, however - especially if it's your BEST player - you have almost no choice but to keep playing them. And if, like Judge, they're unable to turn it around... you're essentially screwed. There is no plan B.

    Seriously?.........

    Thanks! It's my favorite.

With a fully-rested rotation, Doug Fister was their game 3 starter.

Edwin's replacement hit .091 -- so this theory is irrelevant in this conversation.

Judge -- or any struggling elite hitter -- can still affect games by protecting the batter ahead of him and increasing pitch-count. CLE didn't have either of those factors with Edwin gone.

Very silly to argue Yankees>Indians when CLE didn't have perhaps their best hitter.

    This is awesome.

Maybe not verbatim, but McCann was quoted saying, "joining HOU was the best decision he's made in his life."

    The clubhouse is beyond great.
