Love that 20 of the top-25 teams are matched up against each other.

Is it weird that one of the playoff games is at 3pm on New Year's Eve? Wouldn't they want to put those games on New Year's Day when most people are off work?

Besides the traditional Sun Bowl matchup on CBS, all but two games are on ABC/ESPN. I've never even heard of those two before (CI Bowl and Cure Bowl).

Looking at the American fallout, seems Memphis got the best game against Auburn. I would not have wanted to play Pitt or Toledo, although u take anything when u are bowl eligible. Navy at home. Cincinnati gets a vacation in Hawaii though and that is a good deal.

ESPN approached CFP committee about changing the playoff game schedules but were shot down. Something about tradition of the current NY6 bowls like the Rose Bowl being on New Year's Day and not wanting to mess that up.

That sucks - January 2nd would have worked too, given that it's a Saturday. And it would set the stage after all the "lesser" bowls. I can't imagine bowls like the TaxSlayer or Cactus Bowl have any power to resist there.

That was one of the proposals that was shot down. Just imagining how future playoff games will be scheduled when they expand to 8.

@ClayTravisBGID: The cheapest upper deck tickets for the college football title game will have a $450 face value.

I know most on here probably don't care about the Utah/BYU bowl game but I can't wait. The Holy War in Sin City. Honestly one of the best bowl games this year.

The Polynesian presence in Vegas will triple that weekend with all the extended families making the trip. Should be fun.

If they had a stadium in Vegas that held 70,000 seats it would've sold out.

I'm excited about playing a top 10 team that played #1 down to the wire while being hosed on an onside kick recovery.

UNC is a damn good team.
