Kidding. I don't know what there is to do in Ottawa. Drive two hours east to Montreal, maybe?

 

I've only been once, but I thought it was a nice city (I'm old, so your mileage may vary). The canal that runs through the city is pretty cool, it's a great walking city, and I had one of the best bowls of Pho I've ever had there. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the place. I think I found it on chowhound. Summers in Canada are glorious, so there is almost always a decent festival going on. I'd check a calendar for the dates you'll be there. The US dollar is going much further these days, but adjust your expectations; things are priced higher here, so your purchasing power will be about the same.
