Beast mode? Seems like Portland scored at will and DH is supposedly getting paid the max for his defense. Offensively, the games the Rockets won were the games where he scored the least. So, "beast mode" for DH on offense equaled a loss. Probably because his post-ups don't really help the offense as a whole.

Dude, you really need to curb your rewriting of history.

    Falsehood #1
TheFreak: "Offensively, the games the Rockets won were the games where he scored the least."
Rockets scored the most points of the series in their Game 3 win. 121 points.

    Falsehood #2

TheFreak: "Probably because his post-ups don't really help the offense as a whole."
In Game two, after Harden and Jones missed the first two shot of the game, DH ran over Lopez for 6 consecutive field goals in row.

    FGs in order:
    2ft and 1 (made)
    1ft
    1ft
    2ft
    3ft
    1ft

So, that is what you call "doesn't really help" He scored 17 pts in the 1st launching the Rockets to a 31-23 1st Q lead.

Harden was 6-19 and Chandler was 5-15, so we had to milk DH, while Port double teamed him the rest of the night.

    Falsehood #3:

No offense, (maybe you didn't understand what he wrote or it was the Denver herb) but you didn't refute anything he said

By citing those specific plays, you actually proved yourself wrong. He went insane, but the postups took away from our pace and the type of offense we try and run (we were only up by 1 at half). I was pissed at Barkley for saying it during the halftime show, but he was right...as we ended up losing that game. Freak is pretty much saying the same thing, and I just looked at the boxscore and he is correct

lols. You actually think i was done presenting facts. I was waiting for a response, so you had to present your hand/cards. It was easy to predict the response you gave. First off, you are just reinventing history saying DH took away from the type of offese we try and run. Is that an apology for how bad Harden shot in the playoffs. Most everyone agrees Harden took himself out of the series and the second best SF in the series took out the best SF in the series, and Lin fumbled away a game.

In the Game 3 win, Harden shot 35 field goals. That is not what we try and run. Howard was 10-16 in that win.

The best way to beat golden state is to be able to run and pass and shoot with efficiency. We are not going to beat golden state with abysmal shooting. They have too many strong shooters. Last year with Parsons and even Jeremy Lin we had a good height advantage that could pass and shoot. We also Ran with the ball better. This year it is obvious that we are focussing on our half court game but this is where we need versatility. This definitely has to do with the players that were acquired and are currently at hand. We will not beat golden state with Jason terry and Ariza unless they are used in small doses. Dwight was also alot more effective because we really focused on getting him the ball before the defence could react. A healthy Dwight is what we need. An unhealthy Dwight is not. The Golden State Warriors are us last year with better defence. We need our high octane offence back. Hopefully Josh Smith can regain his legs and hops because he reminds me of an older version of T jones. We need either or and it is redundant to keep both. One of them needs to get traded so we can get a Dragic type player aka as someone to replace the intangibles that Parsons brought and we carelessly lost.

Any update on Howard's injury? Surely they have done medical testing by now.

Is he playing today? Or how long is he out?

Did not look all that serious.

He is questionable for tonight. He prob should not play and seeing as how it's in LA he prob won't.

The ankle could be a blessing. Dwight's knee needs rest. McHale should reduce his minutes regardless to insure we're healthy come April and beyond. I'm not worried about our seeding as long as we're healthy for the playoffs. Rockets already proved they could win without Dwight, now add with Brewer and Smith. DMo has improved since then also. Let Howard sit a week or 2 for his ankle, rest that knee, and reduce his minutes.

Spot on and well said, Howard was a man amongst boys against Portland. Don't forget Damien Lillard running rough shot on the Beverly and Lin. LOL

I'd like to see McHale sit him until he's healthy , or as healthy as he can get this season.

Bad thing is that Tarick Black is gone ..... This team played its best offensive basketball while Howard was out & Black was getting extended minutes. He's not near the player Howard is but he knew his role , defend , rebound , set hard picks & shoot dunks or layups.

You should not believe him. Capella shoots a ft% of .624 so not even close to dorsey

Dorsey can do the same things. He is a better defensive player than Black. Also when Jones returns we have 3 quality bigs.

lol neither Heat nor Spurs had Dwight (or somebody alike) and they won last four championships...

its rather in reverse... you cant win it with Dwight...the Dude played on team featuring 4 hall of famers -almost missed playoffs and went out in the first round express...

Heat had LeBron, Spurs have Duncan and Parker, c'mon now..

Our roster is constructed around him, we would need a total overhaul if we want to win without Dwight.
