    the roots is one of the most well known rap bands in the industry though, they get respect. but i agree generally they're unknown in terms of "commercial success" I thought undun was one of the best concept/hip hop albums of that year.

    but lets be honest when people think of the roots, they think about ?uest.. as far as MC's go i think black is generally underrated and hardly mentioned.. im strictly speaking black thought without mentioning the roots..

    Gotta agree with Lord Finesse. He's the reason Big L was able to get so recognized.

    My personal choice would be Scarface. He's a legend for any true rap fan, but I think he should be in everyone's top 5 of all time.

    Killer Mike, Little Brother, Blu, the late Big L is severely underrated.

    Although the Roots are well known, Black Thought still gets overlooked. When it comes to lyrics and rap style, he's a top 15 all time.

    I had an XV phase about 3-4 years ago... At one point I had him added on XBOX Live but never got to play with him before he removed me.

    Anyways, I always liked how he rapped about stuff that was cool to him instead of the typical "hoes, money, drugs and guns" I always wanted him to breakthrough but it never happened. Does he still rap?
