They'll be without Rondo for nearly the entire first half of the season.

I don't know if Bradley, Lee, Green, Bass, Sullinger? (or Randolph lineup can hold of teams like Charlotte and Orlando, but I know they stand a very good chance.

The Brooklyn Nets are in advanced talks with the Boston Celtics to acquire future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Nets have discussed a possible deal to land Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. (USA Today Sports)
The talks have reached the ownership level of both teams, a league source told Y! Sports.

The talks are centering around a package that would include Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shengelia, the expiring deal of Kris Humphries and three future first-round picks (2014, '16 and '18), sources told Y! Sports.
Jason Terry also will be in the package going to the Nets, sources said. The Nets would send back Reggie Evans and do a sign-and-trade involving Keith Bogans and one more minimum-level player as part of package, a source said.

Garnett has yet to be approached about waiving his no-trade clause, sources said, but there's a belief that he could be convinced of agreeing to a deal should the Celtics and Nets be able to reach an agreement on terms. The teams won't seek approval of Garnett to waive his no-trade clause "until the deal is agreed upon," one source in the talks told Y! Sports.

For the Celtics, the chance to clear cap space and gain multiple future draft picks to start the franchise's rebuildig process would be the lure.

The hope is Garnett would be swayed by the chance to join his close friend, Pierce, in Brooklyn where they could play for longtime rival Jason Kidd.

I don't think this will end well for the Nets. Feels like the Lakers....lots of good parts, but will they fit?

I don't think they're better than the Pacers or Bulls (with Rose) after this trade, let alone Miami. All they did was secure the #4 spot in the East and compromise their entire future.
