    when an Elvis impersonator mailing poison to the president is the third biggest story of the week, you know it's been a hellacious few days- we all need a cocktail.

    I'm drinking a Manhattan, renamed a Boston, for the weekend:
    • 3 parts Michters Rye
    • 1 part Dolin sweet vermouth
    • 3 dashes Woodford Reserve spiced cherry bitters

    place in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well, strain into a martini glass.

    We are all West Boston Americans tonight.
