[TV Series] Summer Heights High

    has anybody watched this on HBO?

    it's hilarious. it's an Aussie import, and is kind of a cross between da ali g show and the office/the christopher guest mockumentaries.

    there are only 8 total shows in the series. the first 6 are on OnDemand. hbo seems to have done a lousy job of promoting this, but if that description sounds like something you'd like, check it out. it's great.

    I've been watching this and it's hilarious. The portrayal of the behavior problem special ed kid is so dead on.

    I've gotta say I gave it an honest shot and think it is borderine bad, at best a waste of time.

    Not close to a Flight of the Conchords or Curb.

    curb i agree with. flight of the conchords...i have the same sentiments as you do towards Summer Heights. i basically forced myself to watch the first season, and just can't get past the fact that it is a complete and blatant ripoff of Tenacious D (with a sprinkling of ripping off the agent from Extras as the band manager). it has it's moments, but i don't see how anybody who has seen or was a fan of Tenacious D can have any appreciation for the show.

    as they say, to each his own. i can totally see how Summer Heights High wouldn't be for everybody. i'd give it 2-3 eps before swearing it off though.

    I think it's hilarious and it is my favorite show on TV right now.

    Mr. G and Jonah absolutely kill me. Just as good as Conchords IMO

    as much as I love flight of conchords, summer heights High kicks its ass, chris lilley is amazing with the 3 characters, and as Jonah would say you are all homos and need a big dose of d1cktation if you don't love the show :)

    his previous show, Australian of the year is nearly as awesome

    Awesome show, and as a teacher of many Islanders, Jonah is an almost letter perfect characterization.

    Have y'all seen "Angry Boys"? Pretty much the exact same thing with even more characters and not school-based. Pretty funny.

    wow weird to see a thread of mine bumped from 4 years ago, esp. since i typically don't start many threads.

    angry boys is plenty funny, but not quite the level of SHH
