Having your All-world center go down and retire and having your all star shooting guard have career threatning knee surgery....what was he supposed to do?
I thought the responses were better than the article. A sample: John, you my man and all. And I'm perfectly pleased with what the Sixers did this summer. But.... as an avid prospect watcher, your being a little harsh. Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady's injuries have a lot to do with the Rockets downfall. And they haven't had a top five lottery pick to replace either. And Morey totally crushed this year's draft! Royce White is clearly one of the top five talents in the draft, is a high risk/high reward player. But you also have to notice how well Jeremy Lamb is adapting. Terrence Ross is a beast, and at the same position as Royce White in case White doesn't work out. Donatius Motiejunas may be better than Andrea Bargnani. Chandler Parsons was a steal. Patrick Patterson will outplay his draft position. Things in Houston are looking good. They are not making the mistake some teams make of holding on to a middling team. Blow it up, ship out decent players, Lowry, Scola and Dalembert, who will keep you drafting at #15. Get young, talented studs, and grow. Jeremy Lin is a stop gap, marketing machine. Draft a stud point guard at the top of the lottery in the next couple years and this group will be special.
I ought to bookmark that article and e-mail it to the author in a few years, see what crap he will spout to excuse his feebleness of mind next.
The worst thing for Lin is for him to lose confidence. He should keep taking his shots as well as figure out how to counter the defensive pressure the Spurs are applying on him.
Terrence Ross is a beast, indeed. I think he won't be a star, but he'll play in the league for many years as a starting shooter/defender, every team needs those.
Until we actually "blow it up", I won't believe it til I see it. PLEASE blow it up! We don't wanna be picking 15 every year like Philly...
