    it wasn't mine. i saw it this morning and it was sticking on the door of the car . probably from yesterday or so. I'm not sure I just drove the car the first time this week.

    I just don't get the logic, why would you use steelwool on a gum, instead of say a credit card or something harmless?

    Meguiar's ScratchX and a microfiber cloth. Rubbing until your little heart is content or the scratches disappear.

    If that doesn't work, take it to a reputable detailer and have them hit it with a polisher.

    WD40 it. you have to rub the paint into the scratches and it'll eventually look brand new. you're welcome.
