I went to Fiesta once to buy some fruits and the lady at the cashier thought I was Mexican and spoke to me in Spanish.

Lol that same thing happens to me almost anywhere I go, and I'm not even Hispanic. I do know a little Spanish however so I do reply back.

And there is no way that is a recent picture of Kevin Love!

I think it is him because of the left side of his face from the picture, you see a black mark. And on the right side of his face, there is a little extra texture which shows the other black mark. I just wanted to know

That last picture does look more like him.....i guess it is him...it just doesnt look like him because he went from a short/edged up hair and beard, to woolly mammoth, and then to boy band look. Plus, he's lost a lot of body fat over the years.

after this, a long brutal history of enslavement by the spanishof the native population ensued. the interesting thing about mexican culture is that it has indian and european influence. The spanish christianized many of the remaining population who didnt die from disease, some still kept their native culture. There are still a number of native amercans in mexico today who are not european,catholic and retain their traditions.

Getting to your question, before the mexican revolution of 1810 that was a social uprising that ousted the spanish controlled government there were different social classes within mexico. In order from highest to lowest social class: The full blooded spaniards BORN in spain, the full blooded spaniards born in mexico, those of spanish and indian mix (mestizos)full blooded native americans and africans or those of mix with african blood(mulattos).

Both of the full blooded spanish classes had the top roles in the colonial government, but those born in spain had higher status simply because of their place of birth in spain. This inequality fuelled bad blood between the two, resulting in a split of alliance between the owning class. when popular uprisings from the native population against the spanish colonial government began, those spanish born in mexico sided with the native population against those born in spain because of the inequality that had existed. It was not that the spaniards born in mexico liked the rest of the population below them, its just that they didnt want to share power and have a glass ceiling over their head.

After the revolution in 1810 with the ousting of spanish colonial rule, those spaniards in mexico still maintained their social class and possibly gained more control. They exploited those of lower social classes, and worked them on their large "haciendas" or ranches. This peasant class was much like the serfs in germany or russia, or the yeoman in england.

still today there is much racism within mexico, and these social classes are still somewhat recognized. The color of skin is still very important in mexico.
