They might rise again in a few years, but it looks like the Steve Nash era PHX is ending. 6-12 after getting blown out tonight, after a 40-42 season last year. Not really much potential to get another star in a trade or in free agency. Maybe the Knicks would send Stoudemire back? Seems this is time for them to blow this thing up and sell off some pieces to scavengers.
It's been way long past time for them to blow it up. I don't think they'll do it, though. Not until Nash actually goes up to them and asks for a trade (assuming he hasn't yet).
Feel bad for Nash. Props for him for not going public with a trade demand. Surprised the front office is stupid enough to keep him. Maybe they're in denial they can land a FA, or think tanking is stupid. Sounds familiar..
Suns FO is selfish as hell but I guess that's business. Of course Nash is too classy to ask for a trade..his loyalty should be rewarded and he should be traded to a contender. He's already 37..
If we can't get Kaman I wonder if there's any chance Phoenix makes Gortat available. Would you give up a first rounder and more for Gortat?
a) Why would they do that b) Nash is still a high efficiency 15 and 10 guy, would you really put him on the bench and have him play 20 minutes a game? That's just silly.
I don't give Sarver this much credit. He'll probably keep Nash in the team to fill seats until Nash's contract expires. Thing is apart from Gortat I don't really see anyone else I like on that team. Gortat for Thabeet and Marcus Morris? PHX gets to shed Gortat's salary with Thabeet's expiring, and can reunite Markieff with his twin.
