Seems like they are going after some of the larger establishments, which are run more like a business than a non-profit entity geared toward helping those with legitimate illnesses.

IRS is going after them too. They are doing everything they can to try to shut these down. Legalize it. Too bad the powers that be have a vested interest in it remaining illegal. Prison Industrial Complex, and the Drug War Industry for the lose.

I would think the federal government has more important things to worry about .

It's crazy. In LA there are more medical mar1juana dispensaries than Starbucks. You see them everywhere. There's probably about 6-9 within a five minute drive radius from my house.

Why the Fed govt. is going to waste manpower, money, resources, and time on this stuff is beyond me.

i agree - california is awesome!

this is yet another example of president obama doing the exact opposite of what he promised to do when running. as a candidate he promised to not use his justice department to go after mar1juana dispensaries.

one and done. Obama is a bunch of empty promises

although the opposition will certainly not bode well for the legalisation fight.

Romney or whomever else are uptight jerkoffs too

That wasn't his promise. His promise was not to crack down on users. The Justice Department had a policy of actively prosecuting people with medical mar1juana permits. That hasn't changed.

What he's doing now is directly targeting larger dispensaries.

I certainly don't agree with the President but he didn't break any promises here. In fact the quote in your post proves as much.

    This seems pretty pointless.

Sounds again like something I didn't help elect Mister Obama to do.

    Very true.

This was the leader that boldly stated, "If I don't have this done in 3 years (referring to the economy), than this is going to be a one-term proposition." He's been desperately trying to float above the partisan fray/hide under a centrist cloak for many months, yet he continues to spend loyal taxpayers' money at a jaw-dropping rate while failing miserably to create jobs/grow the economy... not to mention, we're engaged in conflict on 3 separate fronts. For a man that stormed in to the White House w/ such vigor & promise, it's disappointing to witness such a lackluster tenure jam-packed w/ false promises.

I never really expected the administration not to do this. I wasn't fooled.

I've heard that for every one they shut down, 100 new ones pop up. Don't quote me on that. Just something I heard once.
