    It just occurred to me: Golfers don't use grass to judge the wind direction anymore. When did this change?

    When you have flags whipping at a much greater height, that ultimately works better than throwing grass in the air. OTOH, I assume you're kidding with that question.

    No, I was serious. Flags never stopped a player before from using the grass. Maybe it's just that the younger kids made a trend and stopped doing it.
