Do you believe our 2008-2009 team was a contender?

Was the 2008-2009 team worth keeping at the time?

  1. Yes: That team was a contender, and I'm glad they kept the team together

  2. Nope: If I were a GM, I would've traded T-Mac/Yao and rebuilt then and there

Even without mcgady they were contenders. Great defense, solid offense and bench, great coach and a nearly unstoppable closer in Yao when he's healthy. Too bad it all fell apart, I was more excited going into that season than i had been for years.

That team had chemistry and was a very good team, but I don't think they were contenders. Nostalgia is always fun, but back then I remember more members saying that we weren't contenders.

The league was fairly week that year, so I'm not saying that we had no chance of winning a championship, but it certainly was a longshot. If you put that Rockets team in today's league, I don't think they make it to the WCF.

Without T-Mac that year we were a Dallas type team in terms of chances of winning.

    Not great but not terrible

In terms of talent and chemistry, I agree; however, for many of our players, that was their first playoff experience since entering the league. Dallas has been there yearly, but fail to advance. I still don't like their chances, but they've been there.
