The next time the Ds are in the WH, they should defund all R programs they do not like, claim they are following the Trump Precedent and wait a year for the courts to slap their hand. It will be interesting to see if Trump WH does start funding PBS and NPR again or tells the court "Make Me".

Judge slaps down Trump for defunding PBS and NPR

It's not about liking or disliking something -- NPR is as far left as it gets. I think they had less than 1% non leftist staff and went years without a conservative speaker. So why should taxpayers fund something that caters to 10% of Americans? It's gotten too left for many liberals, including some employees, and they were the ones who filed formal complaints about it.

NPR under new scrutiny after longtime employee reveals its left-wing activist mission

Now if you also wanted your tax dollars supporting institutions and radio networks promoting white supremacy and Nazism, then you'd have a point. But you don't. You take your own extremists and try to pass them off as public good -- which is a lie. The CEO also makes a million a year off of taxpayers to keep pushing crap -- WHY am I paying an activist to make more than the President?

Straight from an editor. It's all one big joke to avoid a merit based system

NPR Editor Uri Berliner: Here’s How We Lost America's Trust

NPR business desk senior editor Uri Berliner last week wrote a scathing editorial accusing the organization of “telling listeners how to think” through an “absence of viewpoint diversity.”

The CEO, who's only credential is leadership for racial equity and a degree in Islamic studies :

Maher, who stepped into the role of CEO in March, has never held a position in journalism prior to her gig at NPR. She also lists being a member of the Biden administration’s State Department Foreign Affairs Policy Board. Maher attended New York University in 2003 for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and is certified in “leadership for racial equity” by the University of Virginia, according to her LinkedIn.

I think it would be great for someone to start getting these millions of protesters to donate and start fundraising to build Trump Library mockery museums shaped like gigantic oranges. The biggest, most beautiful oranges in the world, in places like DC, NYC, Chicago, Houston, and etc.. In these museums I picture around 8 different rooms.

    #1 Presidential LIEbrary
Full of digital screens around a circular counter where that display hundreds of thousands of lies Trump has spewed,. Each has an interactive button you can push for categories like science, health, COVID pandemic, voting, geography, history, economy, people, etc... You can hit a button to display the real truth below each lie displayed on the screen.

    #2 Crazy Mad Hatter

You are provided headsets and a remote at the entrance. It's full of giant numbered digital screens showing video clips of the craziest and most bizarre stuff Trump has said and done. You can push a number on the remote provided, which sends the audio to your headset. There are red hat shaped cushioned chairs all throughout the room to sit and watch.

    #3 The Cult of Wax
Full of wax figures dressed in full MAGA rally garb saying really stupid and crazy stuff about the world as they believe it from Trump's mouth to their mind.

    And so on.....
You get my drift. I can think of lots of categories to fill with mockery of Trump, all based on actual events.

Actually, it's not about how too-left or non-representative it is any more than it is about liking or disliking it -- it's about how Congress appropriated funds for the purpose of funding NPR and PBS and the president not having the authority to capriciously override Congress.

Tweeters as usual spending too much time saying "but that's illegal!" or "it's unconstitutional!" and losing the plot. Sure, it'll will eventually be defeated in courts. The courts might even block the order from going into effect. But then Trump can point to the court decisions to say the election is rigged and illegitimate. That's been his MO forever -- set up a catch-22 where people can either comply or be vilified for resisting. If the MAGA want to nod along, it won't matter how ridiculous the accusation is; they just need some barely plausible rationale to justify what they wanted in their hearts.

He can’t quit. He’s not a king. It requires an act of Congress or a Supermajority.

Issue is Trump could just tell the military not to defend a nato nation if it gets attacked which in theory is same thing as withdrawing. If Germany gets attacked by Russia and Trump tells Pete hegseth to sit back what's going happen? Is the supreme court going demand we go to war with Russia? Cmon lol

All it requires is a simple majority to decide to not do anything to oppose Trump's illegal withdrawal from the treaty. That's all.

Trump started a war against Iran without a Congressional declaration of war. It is obviously beyond the scope of his powers. Congress should be crying foul, should be going to SCOTUS to declare the war illegal, should be passing laws forbidding the spending of any money on this misadventure. But, some Republicans want him to do it, so now suddenly instead of Trump having to leap all the hurdles to get a 'Yes', his opponents for some reason have to leap all the hurdles to get an affirmative 'No.' What's the saying? All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

So withdrawing from NATO could be no different. Trump signs an EO saying we are withdrawing and John Thune suddenly starts attending to a hangnail and Mike Johnson plays Candy Crush on his phone. Whacha gonna do about it?

It's both sad and hilarious that you can spend years calling NATO useless, then NEED their bases to launch the Iran War, then beg them to help reopen the strait, and still argue the alliance is worthless. If anyone vividly demonstrates the benefit of NATO and the need for it, it's this POTUS.

Yet here he goes again, threatening to pull out because he's not getting NATO to fix a problem he solely created.

Fine. Withdraw. At minimum, it might keep the US out of the next war we have no business starting.
