The Army had suspended the aircrew involved in Saturday’s incident, a U.S. official said earlier Tuesday, but Hegseth announced Tuesday evening that the suspension had been lifted and that no punishment would be forthcoming. "No punishment. No investigation," Hegseth wrote on X. "Carry on, patriots." Major Montrell Russell, a spokesman for the Army, said in a statement on Tuesday that the "personnel involved have been suspended from flight duties while the Army reviews the circumstances surrounding the mission, including compliance with relevant FAA regulations, aviation safety protocol, and approval requirements." "Since the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to discuss specific findings at this time," he said. "The Army takes any allegations of unauthorized or unsafe flight operations very seriously and is committed to enforcing standards and holding personnel accountable." I did not watch the Trumpster's speech last night but caught some snips this morning while getting ready for work. The one thing that caught my ear was him telling other countries to buy their oil from the US. He said we have plenty. So, I'm confused...... If we have so much oil and are offering it for sale to others, why are we not using this massive amount of American oil to offset our current prices at the pump. The math is not mathing in my head.
1. Oil is a global commodity so prices are dictated by global supply/demand. Oil disruptions in the middle east effect us whether we like it or not. 2. 60% of the oil we drill here is light sweet crude due to the shale revolution but most of our refineries are old and we're build to refine heavy crude. We export most of our light sweet to Asia We import most of our oil from Canada which has heavy crude which our refineries are suited for. Trump is a ****ing moron who has no idea how anything works.

No, this administration never presented evidence that Iran was “about to get a nuclear weapon.” In fact, US intelligence assessments said that Iran was not actively building a nuclear bomb. And, as Trump stated again last night, the nuclear sites were “obliterated,” and any remaining nuclear material, which were not yet at weapons-grade levels, was buried under rubble and inaccessible. He also said the sites were being closely monitored by US satellites, and that any attempt by Iran to recover or excavate the material would be met with further strikes. Most of the ME is not happy that this war started, and even if some are, that still does not mean Iran was close to getting a nuclear weapon. Those are completely separate issues. Claiming one proves the other is just a basic logical error.

I mean look... that whole thing last night was about one thing.... polling, and Trump maintaining his base by feeding narratives that can help them maintain positions and talking points that gives them confidence in their MAGA identity and ideology. Playing the nuke card is tired, and worn out. However it works as a get out of jail debate card. Anyone with half a brain though knows that if going to war, and driving inflation is worth it to destroy our enemy's nuclear capabilities, North Korea, Russia, and China are much greater threats and much more likely to use a nuclear warhead than Iran is in the next 40 years. But it's not about those folks being wrong on the merits, and having faulty logic. Here are the facts: -Trump dragged us into a war with Iran because of corrupt deals with MBS, Bibi, and the Qatar oligarchs who wanted Iran regime change while they were in a weakened state. -Trump and his corrupt allies underestimated the fallout/Iran's ability to fight back, or didn't care (Israel's case more so) -Wall Street is finally reacting in a way that is signaling disaster economically -Polling shows that Trump's support is taking a nose dive So the response from the above is for Trump and his team to say that right now what he needs to do is speak to HIS BASE and give them some talking points so that way they can stop the bleeding in the polls, and be in a better position to maintain as much Congressional support as possible after the mid terms so he can maintain power. The more Republicans in Congress, the more power he'll have, and the less likelihood of Trump's cronies seeing jail time at some point. In the end, the people around Trump know he's going to get many of them indicted and it is far more likely if Democrats win big, and investigate for 2 years straight. That is all that last night was about. Making sure people like my mom all across America stay with MAGA... which I know they will for the most part. The bigger issue for the rest of the country is turning out in big enough numbers to offset the MAGA base which WILL BE THERE for elections, and extracting as many independent voters, new voters, and non-voters as possible. That is the only way we get out of this mess long term. Because Trump will continue to BS his way into MAGA supporters staying with him through anything and everything. Gas could be 20 dollars a gallon on election day and MAGA will be there for Trump. The Democratic coalition of Americans need to be prepared for that, and act as if the country is on the line if they don't win every single independent voter, and turnout record numbers on their side.

The #1 thing you forgot to mention is Trump ND MAGA paint this war as zero sum. That we had to go to war to stop Iran from getting a nuke. The fact is Iran had already agreed on giving up it's nuclear program and enriched uranium. This could've all been avoided but the real reason for the war was regime change. The nuclear material was not inaccessible bcz the Iranians moved it before the strikes and wanted to keep it as leverage for future talks. They were willing to give it up in talks in exchange for sanction relief and help with building a civilian program

Block out all the nonsense talking points and just look at the series of events of what happened and its clear: -Over the past 2 years Israel and the US via the 12 day war degraded Iran's capabilities -The protests happened, and Iran killed thousands to stop protests -MBS, and Bibi lobbied Trump to "finish the job" and take them out aka Regime Change since they thought Iran was at a weakened state, and they could just wipe them out and who cares about whatever comes next -Trump says okay but let me threaten them first, and send Jared, and Witcoff to negotiate first, and maybe we'll get a sweetheart deal instead -The Iranians actually consider sweetheart deal, and Israeli intelligence finds out that they are getting ALL of the leadership together to potentially agree -Trump is told this, and lobbied to kill everyone that is meeting since they were dumb enough to gather in one location -We are in a war -Iran takes an initial beating, but the institution remains in tact with more hard liners taking over -Iran starts winning the war by controlling the global economics -Trump wants to TACO, but cannot get out now because of his corrupt alliances -Trump's team sees wall street in a sell off, and his polling cratering -..... Trump's people tell him he needs to make a speech to keep his base in tact so they don't get wiped out in November, and that doesn't become the beginning of their end, and end up with all of them being indicted in 3 years. That's the series of events. The talking points are meaningless. This ALL stems from Trump and Kushner's corrupt money grab 5 years ago when they took the 2 billion dollars from the Saudi's, and whatever other scams they've done since them with the Middle East mob bosses.
