We need a basketball version of AJ Hinch. Is Framber's psychologist still in Houston? We could use an expert... to get Ime forcibly detained.
so over 3 weeks ago and I just checked, that post was 10 pages back so you went out of your way to find it That’s how fcking desperate you are? And because of the Pelicans? Lol like I said, standards so low you’ll be impressed by anything
poster who drops in here every single mediocre performance to bash Sengun blames others of having low standards after a game Sengun addresses his two shortcomings defense and 3pt shot to become a superstar. Can we also have a lecture on how you are the true rockets fan?
Sengun's efforts on defense in the 1H yesterday were remarkable. He was in a very strong stance like we haven't seen this year. Simply giving a **** goes a long way. If Sengun can play with that intensity on defense on a regular basis, the equation changes. That was the most promising game of 2026, despite the opponent, which hasn't played a role lately. Rockets have basically been a .500 team except November, they didn't play like that yesterday.
Exactly. He's also fun to watch when he's playing well. He's painful to watch when he's not his his shots and he complains a lot.
The poster you're arguing against also has very selective memory - at some point you've got to realize he actually doesn't give a s*** about the Rockets if his "favorite" players aren't leading the team. Posters like him make Jalen Green haters look like saints - at least we acknowledged when Jalen had a good game every now and then. With the hate against Alpi, it's so damn obvious it is race related.
I wasn't meaning the volume as much as the form/shooting itself. Obviously I don't expect anybody to shoot like that all the time, but if he can keep perfecting that form it's clearly within reach for him to become a reliable stretch 5. You don't make 5 threes in a game that are silky smooth and near effortless looking if the potential isn't there. This is a far cry from Amen shooting a 3, as a comparison. In fact, the form looks much nicer, more fluid and solid than Jalen's has ever looked.
He's a SGA fan. He believes whoever thinks Jokic should win MVP over SGA is stupid. Maybe he just hates Euros.
I hope Sengun is turning a corner here - I don't think anyone is wrong to call out he has been objectively bad at times this season and we all know he is a better player than that. I like the guy and think he is immensely talented but for being in his 5th year with two all star games under his belt - we shouldn't have to applaud him for giving a **** on defense for part of a game. He should be bringing that every game at this point. When you are flirting with being a star on your team - effort shouldn't be optional.
hate to say it @Reeko. i love you but, he gotcha REEKO ALSO GLAZES STEPHON CASTLE!! EXPOSE HIM!!!! EXPOSE HIM!!
The Rockets don't seem to have a franchise player, but so what, neither does Orlando Magic or Miami Heat. All three teams are making the playoffs. We don't have to have a Luka, SGA or Jokic type of player to be among the best. Giannis is definitely a franchise player, but you know how they are doing up in Milwaukee. We just need 2-3 decent players that can score 20+ on a given night with high efficiency. We have that in KD, Sengun and Amen. Right now the issue is that the team doesn't have a PG and the bench is weak. Reed is not a PG. He is really a fringe player, probably short for a SG, bad defender for a PG, and he is not an elite passer. Jabari Smith is very one dimensional. Sengun is inconsistent on defense, KD is a great scorer, but every time he passes, it is a turnover scare. Also he doesn't seem to make players around him better. I don't know what he plays for at this age if not for another championship. Amen Thompson is quietly averaging just 3 points less than Sengun but he is listed as a guard and he is shooting 23% from the 3, yikes... The team probably needs an overhaul on the bench. Okagie and DFS are not playoff caliber players. I like Holliday, maybe because of his brother, who was great at his prime. Tari Eason was playing great when he was not injured, but it is his contract year and he is really forcing things. I never liked Tate, he doesn't seem talented to play at this level. When I watch him, I don't see anything that stands out. Capela should retire, it is over for him. Adams is tenacious, but injured. I think if FVV returns and the bench is completely "recycled", next year's team would have a chance.
A lot of us have said if Sengun could shoot an average percentage from 3 (roughly around 35 percent), then he suddenly becomes a star player. I just feel he can’t shoot just 1 3 a game which is what he’s averaging. You have to let him shoot 3-4 a game if he’s going to shoot any. Even great shooters will miss a 3, and if you’re only given one, that percentage is going to be rather low usually. If you use Sengun correctly, use him in the pick and roll, then throw in a pick and pop, he can easily be a huge contributor on a championship type team, but you have to surround him with the right players, aka shooters. Again this is if he can shoot around 33-35 percent from 3, but shooting one a game won’t achieve this.
