In a perfect world.... Ime and Stone are fired. At most, what will happen though with these two is Ime getting an offensive assistant. And, THAT probably won't even happen, due to his big ego. Both are insulated though and we're stuck with them. Durant either has pieces put around him, without getting too old, and giving up too much. Or, probably more realistically.... We deal KD, as he can still bring a lot...young ( but not too young), good assets...moving back our timeline a bit. Sengun gets dealt for a haul. It needs to be a treasure trove.Again, not older players. ( including above all, Giannis) FVV is moved in the right deal. Damn. Again, probably...NOT gonna happen.
I don’t think Durant can bring a lot. I doubt he can even bring as much as the No. 10 pick and a journeyman like Brooks. I don’t even think they try to move him, but if they do they should be content with decent expirings and any frp or a couple of seconds. Washington already blew their wad on Davis and Dallas fired their dumbass GM.
Ever heard of pressure? These are a bunch of young kids in their 20s who get all sorts of abuses on social etc. They still lack emotional experience and without proper guidance the mental aspect can be massive. I don't think it's a coincidence that we continue to see players going into deep ruts for 20 games going 2/25 from 3. Not all players have the same mental fortitude as ice cold alphas. They ARE kids from experience point of view.
They’re professionals. And there are professionals younger than them killing it. I know it sucks, but the guys we ended up with just aren’t those guys. I wish that wasn’t true but that’s how the ping pong balls fell in those years. I wish they fell differently or the talent pool was better when we picked, but that’s what we’re stuck with and we already traded the 2 pick away.
OP is absolutely correct Ime is one of the best coaches in the league Those who think otherwise are casuals
Well we couldn’t get a good shot off on the inbounds last night. But I get it, you’re basically saying you’ll know what bad coaching is when you see it.
Ime is not the worst coach in the league, not by far. But more and more I believe that while he did a good job instilling a good culture in our young guys, half of that came from Dillon too, and that toughness disappeared with him. Do I want him immediately fired? No. But he needs to figure out his offense next season, whether that be by self improvement or hiring better offensive assistants. One more year of this will cause me to question my Rockets fandom
Ime is the moron who thinks point Durant is a good idea - He's putting him in these situations with no outlet. I don't get the Durant hate, it's not like he wants to be the point guard, it's being forced upon him.
