Ime's a good coach, you suck as fans

Well...maybe Ime isn't as good of a coach as some preached

Well, it's 2 weeks later since this thread was started and now we ARE the 6th seed.

Ime is actually one of the few coaches that can somewhat keep Durant in check. I wouldn't mind him getting fired but only if Durant is gone as well. This will be a sub .500 team if this team hires a coach that Durant will just ignore.

If KD stays we will have a very limited set of options if he accepts a new coach at all.
Its most likely for the org to trade the young guys. Definitely cheaper.

But that does not mean OP is even close to being right. Hopefully he can see things clearly now.

 

Draw up whatever you want..if the players can’t make open shots, that’s that.

 

So when does it become the coach’s fault to you?

 

It’s more nuanced than that to me. I’m not saying Ime is perfect…I’m saying if your team is this bad at hitting open shots, you can draw up other plays all you want that will also get them open shots that your team can’t hit. I don’t believe Ime is holding this roster back. I think we tanked for a core that isn’t worth tanking for. We spent a 2 pick on Green and a 3 on Jabari…that just sucks.

 

What are the signs that a coach is holding a roster back? Not trying to play gotcha with you…seriously would like to know.

 

Hmmm…I don’t know how to answer that universally for all coaches..the criticism for this coach is that he can’t design an offense to get good shots. This roster is about as bad as it gets at knocking down “wide open shots.” Again, you can design up another offense all you want…but the players are allergic to knocking them down regardless.

 

Ime is also the type of coach who doesn't care mentally how you feel. This would have been fine in the 90s and 2000s who could take it on the chin but young players these days can't take continuous critcism they need to be coddled and need support and encouragement. Ime doesn't do that. So when they get into a rut they feel more pressure because Ime doesn't give a **** about how they are feeling all he does is say bad D, not playing hard.

 

I would suggest the problem then is with the adults being paid way more than the coach who need to be coddled and can’t put the ball in the bucket to save their lives. I sincerely can’t believe this is thought to be a valid criticism, honestly. These aren’t kids…they’re men making generational wealth.
