    exactly this.

Sengun may have another level to get to but its likely not franchise player.

Amen is the only player that its more likely than not that the Rockets would regret moving on from too soon. I don't even care about him becoming an average shooter. He has the skills to be an extremely unique superstar now, his March is showing that. His defense is elite and his IQ is in the top 1% of the league.

Jalen/Reed/Jabari/Tari never have hit a consistent level as NBA players. That's on the team's internal development. They have all had high highs and extremely low lows. Reed is young enough where the consistency could come and Jabari is turning into a nice role player.

We are talking about a top 5 player in the NBA. No one on this roster will likely hit even a 2026/27 Giannis level in their career. If I had to choose one I had to keep, its Amen. He clearly gives a **** and has all of the physical and mental tools to figure it out. The biggest issue I have with this trade is neither Amen nor Sengun would really gel well with Giannis on paper. Maybe stars figure it out but the spacing issues would persist.

We spent years talking **** on Westbrick's game, only to then have people clamor for trading CP3 for Westbrick after the 2019 playoffs. Then look what happened. Only some of us could say I told you so.

If you guys thought that was one of the worst trades in Rockets/NBA history, just wait til you see what'll happen if we really end up mortgaging our future for a declining jumbo Westbrick in Giannis. We've had people trashing Giannis when he was in the MVP conversation with Harden... what changed? Why suddenly are you dumbasses clamoring for Giannis now? And you really want to trade Sengun and a bunch of picks for Giannis? The same Sengun who destroyed Giannis earlier this season?

Hoping that Tilman doesn't make the same dumb mistake twice, but damn that I can't say that with confidence.

Facts, but I also wouldn't mind letting KD walk, signing couple of good players for his salary n running it next year. Kinda hoping Kingston Flemings will stay one more year with the Cougars n will be available in the '27 draft.

People take it as a given Giannis would even be interested in coming to Houston. You should not.

Why would he want to come to the West? To compete h2h with Wemby, Shai, Jokic, and Luka when he can stay East?

Why would he want to play in the worst spacing situation in the league? He hasn’t played without a stretch 5 + three shooters since last decade.

Why would he want a 38yo co-star? The reports were that Giannis didn’t want an old Steph as his co-star at the deadline. He was interested in Ant or Bam, who are young and he is tight with. And, from what I’ve heard/seen from his camp, KD and Giannis are not tight. Respectful, yes. But not friends. They are very very different people.

He’s played 36 games this year. Why should we trade for that?

Because nobody else can really trade for him. Lakers? Gsw? Miami? Doubt it. With us he gets a decent chance, considering

They can all trade for him, as can many other teams.

Because Giannis has 1 year left now. Giannis can walk for nothing to Miami or LAL or a bunch of other teams in 14 months. Therefore Giannis is the decider of the shortlist here.

That shortlist could be three teams or it could be one team. But if Giannis doesn’t actively want to get traded somewhere, he will not get traded there.

And taking for granted that Giannis would even be interested in Houston is wrong. We have neither the co-star, the roster fit, or are in the conference that he would want.

And of course, we shouldn’t want him either - for those same reasons and many others.

It is always assumed that every player will pick the Rockets over an equal offer. I think the Rockets would want to try for Giannis. I'm not sure he'll pick Houston.

If the Rockets got Giannis, the Rockets would have to acquire a stretch 5. I'd say odds are good that Turner comes with Giannis. Not sure if the Rockets would try Giannis and Amen.

It has the possibility to be worse than the Westbrook trade.

We already have mini Mr. Run&Dunk. Why do we need two?

Imagine tying up $100M (on the low end) each year on two Mr. Run&Dunks?

He’s already fighting the Bucks to play through injury. Imagine here where we don’t sit guys for injuries. (Maybe a game or two.)

Oops, there goes his calf! Oops, there goes his achilles! Oops, there goes his hamstring! Oops, there goes his knee! On a freshly signed 4/275 deal.

    Fred
    Amen
    Durant
    Giannis
    ??? (Jabari?)
with no bench (as is already the case now)

Honestly just hope they trade Sengun for Giannis now.

It'll be straight up hilarious watching the ownership get what they deserve
