I honestly think 2023, 2024 and 2025 just made up for the extraordinarily good luck with injury in 2022.
Make your prediction, the poll closes tomorrow. I can see the Astros finishing anywhere between first and fourth this season, but I'm projecting another second place finish.
Astros 96-66 Athletics 88-74 Mariners 84-78 Rangers 78-84 Angels 62-100 Orioles win the East Royals win the Central Astros 4-2 over Orioles in ALCS Astros 4-3 over Cubs in WS with Abreu ending an absolutely dominant playoff stretch striking out Bregman to end it.
I think everybody's take should be ... The Astros record will be blah blah blah and Joe gets fired end of season. The 2022 Astros won 106 games and the World Series and the crowd here wanted him fired. It is what it is.
Cam, Matthews, and Cole rake and Burrows becomes our next Pirates trade rape job we will be favorites in the AL for the next 7 years.
I honestly don’t know what to think. I have more questions than answers. Will Yordan stay healthy? Will Correa put up respectable numbers? Can Altuve postpone the decline? The outfield?????????? Is Walker truly washed? Ironically I’m most confident in our pitching this year. Idk. I say 88 wins. Although if everything lines up right I could easily see 97. If those question’s asked lead to bad answers…. Then I could also see a losing team. If that’s the case at least Espada will be gone. And after seeing Omar Lopez’s success, I’d be all for him taking over. He just seems like the guy.
Let's just say as a lifetime Astro fan I am not pumped up about the season. I am guessing more mediocrity and hoping to be surprised.
I feel the same. I tend to buy in to the optimism from fans come spring training. That optimism is assuming the best case scenario where the stars are healthy and play to the level we witnessed before. But now we have a roster of players who were injured last year, and currently injured, or are not the same post-injury. We have star vets who are past their prime. From the little I've read about our players performance this ST on this forum only, it's not sounding like our team has made a 180 from last season and are buzzing with talent... proven talent.
Opening day and not a single game played except for the Yankees. MLB finds another way to alienate a majority of its fanbase. wrong forum I suppose. apologies
Who exactly did it alienate? Are you not going to watch the Astros because the Yankees and Giants played yesterday?
