FFS man, he is in his 2nd year - everyone is inconsistent when they are getting their feet wet and learning the NBA game - do you honestly think this is his ceiling? I don't think Amen has reached his ceiling, do you? If not, then clearly Reed hasn't either. Are you worried Reed will take his shine away, it won't we need them both. DD
That ship sailed long ago. Sometimes it makes sense to include trade ideas in response to comments in other threads. I do hate it when threads are started with a random trade, but not when it flows within the conversation being had. Much more relevant than the politics you constantly inject.
Your trade guts the Rockets assets going forward. Not completely, but it would be hard to build a team around Amen. I'm basically trading Amen, Wiggins, and Herro for Giannis, Reed, and 3 FRPs relative to Hemingway's trade. If you don't want Giannis, I'd be fine shipping him to a 4th team for 2-3 FRPs, but Durant would also need to be sent out for a FRP or 2. I think trading Sengun, Reed, and 3 FRPs for Ware is a bit much, and would kill the Rockets chances in 2 seasons when Herro and Wiggins hit FA.
Even though last night was another disappointing loss, it was a good example of how some of our key players can play together with Reed starting at PG. It wasn't a great shooting game for him, but with Reed we get much better ball movement. Ime is still figuring out his new rotations. I'd like to see a little more Clint and Josh with Reed. Reed's making an impact on defense with his hustle and playmaking. As much as folks complain about him getting beat, he's not the only one. I've seen Amen get taken to the hoop, Tari whooped up on, and Bari have issues. Sengun has regressed this year, and that may be his back and wear-n-tear from playing the tourney before the season. I'm glad he's in the starting lineup and I believe he'll continue to put together some good to great games. Too bad we wasted so many games to get to this point.
No it doesn't it is a self aggrandizing thought that distracts from the thread's intent - make a trade thread - no one cares that folks can use the trade machine and guess what no one can trade right now anyway. DD
I think most of the Garm disagrees, but you should be used to that. Lots of guys do it and it usually gets lots of responses. Hardly anybody brings up the random trade thread anymore. We are talking about trades all the time. Before and after the trade deadline and especially leading up to the draft. Sorry you don’t like it, you can just move on like I do when you stick a political comment into a thread instead of just keeping your opinions to the D and D where they belong. Self Aggrandizing coming from you is pretty hilarious. Do you even know what it means?
No. Too many moving parts. The whole idea of acquiring Ware is to add him to Amen and Reed .... I might move Sengun as the primary asset to acquire Ware, but I want picks coming back - not adding all that other crap. We're talking about an allstar for a bench guy. If the idea of adding DFS is to dump him, there's no need, he's an expiring contract (after this league year). He'll actually bring value much like the expiring contracts other teams traded away at the deadline just passed. Don't care for Herro. Wiggins is a decent piece but no need for him with KD / Jabari / Amen smoking up all the 2-3-4 minutes. You need a backup 5, Capela is a decent option and not very expensive. Tari needs to be moved ..... and take momma drama with him.
Pretty much my view. I've liked the brief flashes I've seen from Ware such that he's not just a bench guy in my view, but giving away the 2 of the best 3 of the young guys as well as over half the tradeable draft capital is way too much.
See, that's the thing: I don't think any of these players should be untouchables. Not Sengun Not Reed Not Jabari Not Amen. Not even KD. They should all be available for the right deal.
Yes. Anyone is available for the right deal. The definition of right deal is where it gets sticky. I think untouchable is relative. Maybe Amen is the least likely to be traded and it would take a monstrous return would be a better way to put it. What I am really confident in saying that Amen is the least likely Rocket to be traded by a long shot, even though he would garner the largest return.
If you don't like it, don't read the post. I was discussing a player who I thought would fit well with both Amen & Reed, that they should find a way to get .... He just followed up on that.
“Self Aggrandizing” from the guy who signs every post and clutters every thread with the same opinion in the same words posted ad naseum, because it is critical that we know on every page of every thread what DD thinks of every topic?
yep and can’t be counted on to hit big shots although he has hit a couple like Bari. Disappointing. Many fans here wrote of JG by the end of 2nd year. I wonder what they would do if he remains inconsistent the rest of this season.
“build a team for Reed”? When did he turn into an all star go to player? Head scratcher here. Don’t get this at all.
I don’t know much about him but he has potential to be a myles turner type. Nothing great just defense, lob, and stretch ability from what Ive seen
None of them are franchise players. The name of the game is to get a franchise player. Everyone on this team should be up for grabs with the right deal. Fans get to emotionally invested in players and create a much large sense of worth than what the actual reality is.
Did you notice the switch a Sheppard tactic used by many teams now late in the game? It’s very obvious and his defense was i defensible against the Bulls. It’s not about getting beat. It’s effort, it’s body positioning, and it’s footwork. He is often out of position when guys get in the paint then he tries to angle his body sideways to get in the way or swipe and sometimes gets a steal. This is because he doesn’t move his feet. He also gave little effort in that game and lazy on that end multiple times.
He (Ware) also rebounds at a high rate and sets really good picks. He's not an allstar type but he is exactly what the doctor ordered if you are building a team around Amen (and Reed). Creates space for Amen to play in the paint and a backstop rim protector to take the pressure off of Reed. We've been asking for a stretch 5 and around here since the Dwight Howard days, we discussed Turner often .... we still don't have one a decade later.
