if we could get away with trading Sengun + DFS + Tate and no more than 3 1st round picks and let Tari walk, that would be a win
But why would the Bucks Ownership do taht dumb ****? they aren't winning a chip again anytime soon and I doubt their fans are just going to sell out arenas for Giannis, they have got to see him for over a decade. This is similar to when it was obvious harden was leaving the Rockets. ,nobody is going to the game when they know the star is leaving and if stays its literally like our Rockets team now. technically we have a chance at a championship but realistically we don't and we look horrible despite having KD here so I'm sure attendance and public interest in this team is already down.
Well we all said stone should of traded for a guard like Coby white or a Collin Sexton type. it didn't happen and now FVV is coming back and its going to stunt reed's growth and he's going to occupy that guard spot now, so what realistic trades will make a major impact to this team next season besides Giannis. I'm REALLY curious on your suggestions.
The irony is now they are going to have to overpay even more now because Sengun has declined, they could of included Tari who is most likely gone for nothing now and the Suns picks would have seemed more valuable before the season. Stone should be fired for the malpractice he did this season.
You are the Bucks and your team is in the lovely city of Milwaukee. You have a choice between staying the Bucks or becoming the Jazz. What would you do?
Getting a bit contemptuous in MIL since they want to shut down Giannis and he doesn't want. I certainly want Giannis to stop playing this season if the Rockets are going to consider trading for him. Reed Amen Jabari Durant Giannis
In my mind the Rockets trading Sengun for Giannis is a fait accompli. With Giannis, Ime loses none of Sengun's offense and greatly improves the defense. Also, Giannis will sell more tickets. And we have the best assets to offer if you don't count OKC and San Antonio, and Giannis doesn't fit their timelines. After we get bounced in the first round, I have trouble seeing how it doesn't happen. That being said, there's a smart way and a dumb way to trade for Giannis. The dumb way would be to include another young player in the package and/or our own draft picks. A 23-year old, 2-time all-star on a very reasonable, long-term contract should be enough along with the 4 picks from Brooklyn, Phoenix, and Dallas. You have to hold on to your own picks and your other young players because KD, FVV, and Giannis give you a small window. Instead, you must use Steven Adams as the matching salary. There's no way you can play Amen, Giannis, and Steven together on offense. This only works if Giannis becomes your de facto center and you surround him and Amen with shooting. The smart way would be to trade Sengun and those 4 picks plus Steven, DFS, and Tari (with his permission, anticipating no one makes him a big offer and he accepts a prove it QO from us) for Giannis and Bobby Portis. That gives you Fred, Reed, Amen as your guards, KD, Bari, Portis as your forwards, and Giannis and Capela as your bigs. You use the Bulls pick this year on a 3rd big and your MLE on another guard (Quentin Grimes?) to give you 10 guys.
man, I think trading Sengun and all our picks for Giannis is dumb. Not when you can trade Sengun, KD and other assets to get a young franchise type player that we can pair with Amen. We aren’t winning sh#t with Giannis added to this team. You have to actually shoot the ball in the hoop to win a championship. We have 2 guys that can actually shoot. One is an undersized guard and the other will be 38 next season. Let’s get real.
I'm not arguing for a Giannis trade. I'm telling you that I fully expect it to happen, and further explaining a way it could work (not guaranteeing it would work). Regardless, there is no team that would trade us a "young franchise type player" for any assets that we have. Teams do not give up those players unless they force a trade (Luka being the only exception). If you can't name any specific names that's because there aren't any.
the Clips traded SGA as part of a package for Paul George the Kings traded Halliburton for Sabonis We traded a bunch of picks and prospects for James Harden Utah traded Donovan Mitchell to the Cavs. the Spurs traded Kwahi. A smart org can trade for a future star. It happens. They can also draft a future star. Not attacking u or anything weird, but I expect us to find a franchise player. It’s literally the job of our GM. I don’t care how it happens but it needs to happen. It’s not asking too much.
Unfortunately you have to trade up for those......do like the Atlanta - Dallas swap where u recognize Doncic is better than Trae Young.
Giannis and KD would be the ultimate Implosion, both thin skinned individuals that became huge sissies......and social media monsters. Giannis has been blackmailing the Bucks for years now. Giannis at least has what KD lacks......a waifu/kids that keep him in check.
It would but doubt it. I think likely Sheppard or Bari part of the deal. Where would Bari play if they get Giannis. It will be interesting to see
what young franchise guy is out there? Almost none. There’s aging stars and young talented unproven guys. I can’t think of a young franchise guy besides Edwards
Mitchell and kawhi were already established. There’s no one I can think of that may be tradable that’s a young franchise guy besides Edwards and maybe Maxey. But there’s a lot of young talent that aren’t great players (Banchero, murphy, Ball etc). Unless you think keyonte george or Murphy can be that guy?
I think if you're trading Sengun you're looking at draft picks and/or young players that you think have breakout potential. You're probably not getting an established "franchise player" because there isn't one on the market who makes sense, unless something drastic changes. Trading Sengun for Giannis I think would be insane right now. I don't think Stone does that unless he's pushed into it by the Fertittas, which, who knows? The roster construction ends up being madness in the context of today's league. Giannis is not a center, so he's playing next to Adams/Capela. Three non-shooters on the court at almost all times. If you think our spacing is bad now, just you wait.
Why does this stupid thread get bumped so often? They are not trading Alpi for Giannis. That would be the stupidest trade since the Luka trade.
a core of 32 (Post ACL) FVV, 38 year old KD, and 32 year old Giannis (coming off an injury plagued season). It's giving the 2013 Brooklyn Nets....
maybe. And as long as they are under 28, which Mitchell and Kawhai were, that’s fine too. Maybe Murphy, Bonchero and George will develop into that guy. I don’t have the scouting resources that an nba franchise does. The only player I can remeber that we identified and traded for as a foundational prospect was KPJ. Meanwhile teams like the Blazers go out and get Deni, who is now a top 20 player. Maybe we should do something like that.
