The team was losing long before and in a fashion that is 100% on ime

stone sucks, but the one good thing he has done is force r****doka to play and develop sheppars

Is there any potential contender who would trade for KD’s 54 M contract and give the Rockets a good return?

I'm not at all against trading Sengun and i don't believe in him as a franchise player but you can't just throw him away for some trash

If only there had been a way for the Rockets to have a lottery pick in this draft. Oh well, I guess maybe it isn’t our year.

    Can I pick 2?

    Ime and Fred.

Not that Fred is a bad player but there needs to be an upgrade.

Ime is just a hard headed dude who won't adapt or adjust unless he's forced to .... bring in a better offensive mind.

If I can't pick two, my vote goes to Ime being tarred, feathered and run out of town.

I went along with the exercise but factored in some reality.... and voted for FVV (I'm assuming he waives the player option as the Rockets don't screw him over). We do have the assets to overpay and upgrade the point guard/playmaker spot and it is our biggest need going forward.

Stone: I agree(d) with the offseason plan of improved young core + vets + Durant for a 2/3 year window with a bunch a flexibility baked in. He got hit with some bad luck and he also definitely bet too much on the young core to be able to run a competent offense. However, I think it's absurd to pick him.

Ime: Bad luck with the roster with injuries and lack of development over the summer, but there are some serious concerns about his ability to instill an offense. He is starting to get those sideway glances from the greater NBA podcastery community. Tilman can fire Ime whenever and eat the money but I think we have him for two more seasons. I think Tilman is the real limiting factoring on assistant coaching (for financial reasons) so hopefully he pays up for an offensive assistant upgrade(s).

The Rest: Young Core got rocked by actual expectations. I think there is an argument for not panicking but we still really need to see how the season plays out and who becomes available after the playoffs.

The Nuggets have the best player in the world and WE have a better record than they do with a younger team. How can you speak of Stone like we're not still in the mix?

If FVV waives his player option, he's a free agent.

If he picks up the option (almost a certainty) he no longer has a NTC because his bird rights are now intact. I'd trade him too .... that's the one position that could upgrade and impact everything else.

Provided Stone's replacement is reasonably competent and not too handcuffed by the owner, then replace Stone because the replacement will have the power to make decisions on the other things that have been mentioned.

Sadly, I tend to agree that both Stone and Ime will be given another chance and I don't have them up to the task before them. Consider it a variation of the idea that it is best to trade a bit too soon rather than too late when there is limited value left to extract.. They will be trying to save their jobs and I have doubts that the two guys responsible for this are capable of recognizing that they have screwed up and also are capable to correcting things. It is quite possible that they will waste assets and another season because of desperation moves to try and save their jobs.

We could've upgraded at the trade deadline...Coby White is averaging 15pts with 36% from 3 coming off the bench with the Hornets.
Meanwhile, Tari forgot how to shoot a basketball and play defense...smh

I'll go with the one who makes people worse. Adios Ime.

The fact he has not once acknowledged his own shortcomings and continuously blames everyone but himself is the biggest of red flags.

2 people voted Amen? That's at least 3 votes too many.

Doesn't matter what anyone wants other than Ime & Stone, and they will want to trade Sengun for Giannis.

KD isn't great defensively but his overall impact is easily muted as a 6'10 forward. You can just easily hide him on any of the weaker wings or bigs.

Sheppard (as a PG) and Sengun (as a center) are just at more critical defensive positions. You can't hide Sheppard on a 6'8 wing and if your center (Sengun) isn't protecting the rim who is?

Easily Ime. I've got issues with Stone, but he at least has shown he's good at negotiating contracts, he's stockpiled lots of picks(although the anti-tanking rules, Silver handing Flagg to the Mavs, and us handing Dillon to the Suns could weaken them), and he drafted Amen, Reed, and Jabari who all look like keepers. His biggest shortcoming is that he never landed that superstar player who could carry the franchise for over a decade, but that's partly due to unlucky bounces by the ping pong balls.

As for Ime, he's horrible at coaching offense, his defense looks overrated without Dillon Brooks on the roster, he sucks at in-game adjustments, he shows little to no interest in developing our young players(especially Reed), he's obsessed with wing players, and he's shown himself to be incredibly stubborn to the point where it actually harms the team.

Not only will the Rockets never accomplish anything with him at the helm, keeping him around is gonna potentially destroy what already has been built. We already squandered a year's worth of development for Reed and now there are reports that the front office(at Ime's urging I'm certain) is looking to gut the roster in order to bring in an injury prone, aging Giannis.

Get rid of Ime. Then the pressure is on Stone to fix this roster and get the right coach in here to lead those players.

With KD, he had a surprisingly healthy season playing up to 36-37 minutes per game......

In Phoenix he had nagging injuries so there is always that......also his mindset shifted from 'I am going to play for 5 years' to 'I might retire soon, Olympics are the last highlight for me'.......

    • He knows that with Shai, Joker, Wemby, Luka, there is only a short window for him in the West.
    • His only way right now is to hope they pair him up with Giannis.......
    • I think neither Amen nor Sengün are on his time line to do great in the next 1-2 years.
