Even if I wanted to make this trade (which I don't), I don't see how there's a fit between him and Amen or Alpi. Both would have to be traded.
Alpi would almost certainly be in any Giannis trade. They'd have to trade him or Durant just for salary matching purposes.
They have 5 tradeable first round picks and three of them have very favorable swaps attached, that's a pretty good war chest. That war chest would be less of a "treasure trove" had they opened it for a short term move
I think Sengun would be in the deal for salary and value. Though the Rockets could match Giannis without Durant or Sengun.
I guess they could do FVV + Jabari + Adams or Capela but I don't think they are trading FVV after all this That's the only other trade I see that works money wise
That is the new Stone........ trade for an aging superstar to mask his warts...... He still has to admit that the rebuild was a failure.......
Giannis $58.4M (Durant $43.9M) Sengun $35.6M Jabari $23.6M DFS $13.3M Adams $13M Reed $11.1M Capela $7M Salary wise… Sengun + Jabari gets it done Sengun + Adams or DFS + Reed gets it done Don’t waste another summer making proposals with Fred or Amen.
JSJ, Adams, and DFS works. Adams, DFS, Amen, and Reed work. I'm not sure on the FVV thing. He needs to be healthy. If he's not healthy, I don't see Rockets having much issue trading him.
Yeah, but in that case I can't stress enough how AWFUL our spacing would be with both Amen and Giannis on the floor.
yall didnt learn from KD? Giannis would ruin this team for good. the fetish for this team to want these old stars when the rest of the league is getting younger and building from within. i pray this is a joke.
I feel like, if Giannis is coming, JSJ is staying to play stretch 5. Reed's shooting would also be important. One of Alpy or Amen has to go out for the spacing to work. It would moat likely be Alpy, since he would be a terrible fit with Giannis.
If Stone wants to appear to compete, they have to do this type deal as a double down. We just finished our rebuild and we're not even the best team in our division; might not end up as even the second best. That's not competing. That said, this does not change anything, it is a mirage in the desert type trade. Fools gold. It looks shiny, but it will not deliver. The spurs likley would still kick our @ss, but...they got a lucky bounce at the lotto...as did the Mavs... dang the "bad luck". We got Yao and the great Hakeem so we have that going for us.
you act like ANY of this is a fit or working rn. this team as currently constructed will be LUCKY to be a 1st round exit. Something has to be done even if people think the move is lateral or bad
The more sickening part is we clearly light years away from OKC who we are chasing, Dallas AND Spurs both started their rebuilds after us and already have brighter futures with generational talents (Unfortunately due to NBA giving them #1 picks). Even Pelicans look better since Zion has been healthier, within our region the only team were clearly better than and will be better than for a while is the Memphis Grizzlies. Right now we have the worst future out of all the Texas teams which is sickening to admit.
Well we tried doing the young thing and look where that is getting us. no where fast. Do you really see Sengun being in the same vicinity as Cooper Flagg or Wemby or even Cade?
I don't act like nothing, I just think it's a stupid idea to turn a bad situation into a worse one. It's not like it's only stay the same or trade for Giannis? Correct me if I'm wrong but there's other 500 players in this league.
